I turned the setting on as soon as I had to use a Mac. Doesn't work for everything, and not consistent across applications. For example, try the Special Characters dialog in Chrome/Safari for example (under Edit). Command-~ not work in everything is really annoying.
"Apple's" interest is to route as much traffic as possible to their "App Store" so that they can earn the "commision", now this "Flash" basically "offer rich interactive web apps" without redirecting the user to "App Store" (where "Apple" would get the money from the "commisions")
So they simply "reject" it because it did not bring them any revenues!
You've mistaken yourself for a typical gamer when you are, in fact, quite atypical.
I think that is what you have done. A "typical Mac gamer" is not same as a "typical PC gamer". When you say "typical game", you are probably thinking of Sims, Diablo. The Mac gamers doesn't play-games-3-months-earlier or spend-tons-of-money-upgrading-their-machines because they can't. It's like saying 'typical 12 year olds don't drive sports cars', they don't because they aren't allow to drive yet.
Microsoft instead goes and buys a crappy OS (the early DOS) for $80K or whatever it was, sells the crap out of it to IBM and becomes the dominant player.
Remind me again... How much did Apple pay out for BSD code, and how much are they selling OS-X for? Bottom line, MSFT/APPL are both corporations, they aren't here to make you feel warm and fuzzy inside. If Apple was the dominant OS, OS-X would probably cost you an arm and leg. Just take a look at iPod pricing.
You would be hard pressed to find a manufacturer with a 'go ahead and play' policy on the hardware.
For PS1, Sony offered a ~$300 black Playstation (Yaroze) with complete API and documentations.
For PS2, Sony offered the PS2 Linux with complete documentations for the home-brew crowd. Sony also gave its European customers a version of YaBasic.
For console manufacturers, Sony probably offers the best official support for the people who wants to tinker with the console but without the bucks.
If I was an official developer who spend $10k per deveopment box/SDK/libraries, I would be slightly pissed off if everyone can get the same capability for something under $500.
My fault, I forgot to set the sarcasm flag. A quick check in FreeBSD, khtml branches and you can see how much Apple contributed. Just compare the ratio of how much Apple 'innovated', and how much they put back into the original project. Instead of the Apple PR links above, read the replies to this article and the recent Apple divorce KHTML articles everywhere.
Making money and open source are not mutually exclusive.
True, my point is that Apple is just as 'evil' as MS. Apple can't stand competitions, look what happened to Power Computing (or any of the Mac Clones). Look how Apple killed all mom-and-pop Mac stores (who have been supporting Macs since 90's) by making them non-competible with Apple Stores. Yeah yeah, they are doing it for greater user's good. Really? I would like to make my own decisions/judgements instead of someone insiting on that shipping a computer with 2-button mouse would confuse me.
You mean supporting open source like how Apple have contributed to KHTML, or the oodles of codes they have injected into the BSD community. Jobs is there to make a buck as much Bill Gates. Don't put him on a pedestal and buy into everything he does.
There is a hell of a lot of difference between Apple and M$. You can argue about whether it's because of "who's on top" right now, but the stunning difference between even Mac OS 9 and Mac OS X and how the hardware has evolved in the same time wrt/ all the things I mentioned above suggests to me that someone (hopefully more than one) at Apple has a freakin' clue that's more than just trying to get on top.
It's funny you made that comparison, because maybe MS isn't innovating the hardwares because MS doesn't make hardware?
To cut cost, you can do away with the screen and just provide a keyboard with memory. Life is random, why would you need a screen? Try the new Word Processor Shuffle today!
I am sure it is really simple to transform radar signals to cause the left/right/forward/backward leds to lit up, and maybe a proximidy sensor/remote signal to detinate/launch.
Yeah yeah, it will be just like iTune for Windows, full of bugs, just enough to temp you to switch to real Macs. More razors to sell the blade. Why use imitations when you can just use *BSDs on the intel chips now (well, besides it looks pretty)? Heck, you can "sample taste" OSX on PearPC.
The blue flush of waste!

iPad is convenient for people whose job only involves email, web surfing and/or note taking.
I have enough power in my pants already.
Solar power > Wind power ;)
"Tron: Legacy (which has so far amassed over $111,000,000 world-wide)" Are they reporting all Tron statistics in binary now?
This is the Apple model, right? Less configurations, flexibility for more money. You pay someone to remove the complexities.
Apple is just waiting for those lazy Adobe programmers to implement everything in Cocoa first.
Kindof like they did with Mac OS X. They should have no problem doing this with iTunes.
Is there a good open source project with lenient license that Apple can "leverage" off from?
Please redirect people who encountered more drop calls on iPhone4 to Anandtech to enhance their receptions.
He's, he's restin'! Remarkable bird, the Red-collared Lorikeets, idn'it, ay? Beautiful plumage!
Wikinews, that is news piracy.
iPad:iPod is Courier:NintendoDS
Why did they even bother to sell a ~$250 collector's edition? Even New In Box, that thing is worthless in 10 years.

And next head line, "OS X has more features than DOS".

It's really unfortunate that silica gel can only be harvested from whale fat and baby seals.

Yes, those are good examples. Thanks.

Finally, an SDK to help you getting your "app" to the other 10% of the market!
