i've wondered if the reason i spend so much time on the computer is because the whirring hard drives give off some weird magnetic field. maybe this shows promise:)
actually it does work. i can guarantee that it does, because i accidentally deleted a major compsci assignment last semester, and went back and used the restore previous option, and it worked just as advertised.
cripes. what i'd really like to do is have it installed native then use some sort of an emulator to read those same files in linux and emulate it when need be. qemu can do this right?
i thought you were allowed only one installation of windows--so you'd be violating the license if you had it installed both on its own and under vmware?
they already have their updates mapped out for the next 4 months:) hilarious.

Wired ran an article in march about new nano-tech batteries that can charge in 5 minutes and pack more punch than a 120V outlet. they're using them in the next generation of cordless power tools. load a car full of those and you'd be set.
even if some evil government sets up a system to require this and it is made law people can take comfort in the fact that only must follow a law unless not doing so makes you a better christian.
actually.. no. moses' staff turning into a snake came from God. all miracles came from God in order to demonstrate His power. all other 'gods' have no power, and hence were not to be worshipped. it doesn't even mean they exist. the bible is pretty clear that anything you worship becomes 'your god.' it has no power though because it doesn't actully exist. jesus' miracles had power from god as well. the dintinction between magic (evil) and miracle (coming from god) is made quite clear. i Have read the whole thing (carefully), i think it is you that needs to do so.
funny, i took a course in college that went into detail on this and sees to contradict what you're saying. the reason africa has no infrastructure is that all their gdp goes into paying the interest. research the world bank and IMF a bit and you'd know what you're talking about.
thats right, actually. it's the INTEREST on this debt that's killing Africa, and why debt relief is such a hot topic now. all their gdp goes into paying off this interest, never touching the principal, instead of going to infrastructure developement, where it's really needed.

even much more accurate than those simple few sensors placed around the world as mentioned would be thousands or tens of thousands of detectors that would be sensitive enough to pick up on minute chemical changes due to intense thought/concentration/fear in a given population, you name it.
remember that human emotion is simply the result of the chemical state of the brain at a particular instant. we as humans give names (sadness, happiness, fear) to an instantaneous chemical snapshot of our brain at a particular point in time. think of an adrenaline rush when you get deathly afraid, your heart beats quicker, time seems to change, etc. sadness is a lack of seratonin, hence the antidepressant medications that work to increase overall seratonin levels.
so with instruments sensitive enough to detect a large enough deviation in the chemical "field" in a given population, as deviating from the 'norm,' caused by extreme concentration (trying to alter the random # generator, fear, war, you name it), i think they might be getting on to something here.
i've actually thought of war-time applications using these methods, the enemy would be effectively exposed just by the simple fact of living and breathing, and hence thinking. detect his chemical trail if you will, and you could instantly reduce any advantage he has in hiding somewhere. like infrared. but with this you could predict his actions even as you could recognize chemical shifts beginning to happen in his brain. adrenaline shooting up suddenly? he's going to run for it. a sudden lull? he's preparing to attack. rudimentary, but research it out enough and you've got him in a checkmate where he really can't outmanouver you.
