So? Consoles are outdated in 4-5 years as well.

Buy a $100 OEM video card as often as you would have to buy a $300 console. Add it to the computer you already need to update every 4-5 years anyway.

No, there won't be more seasons--at least not for a long while. They have said that contractually there cannot be another season of Firefly for 10 years.

Ten years is about the right time for the three projected movies. A second season could happen after that, but not before.

It is a single star system with hundreds of planets. Their sun is a blue star. The big corporation in the series, Blue Sun, is named so because of their sun.

If the blue sun is a main sequence star (and not a supergiant), then it's stellar mass will be around 50 and it's biozone range (the range where liquid water can occur) would be between 500-750 AUs. That's freaking huge. It should be enough to fit in the hundreds of planets that livable range.

However, don't take the science too seriously.

It seems like the Monad shell will incorporate some of the advantages of Bash and I am curious to know what else is planned. For instance, we will see programs optimized for their architecture? Will we see an ultra-minimal Windows install? Customizability to the degree Linux has? Will LaTeX be integrated into MS Office? A Live Windows CD? Other Microsoft and third party software available through Windows Update with an apt-get like command? Alternative GUIs or built-in Qt/GTK+ toolkit emulation?
