Looking from that angle, a working copyright protection system (be it technological or legal) would actually be the best thing that could happen. People would start to think about what is worth their money and what's not and software / content from alternative systems like open source would suddenly become way more interesting. It could be a real revolution.
So lets push for better DRM and stricter laws! May actually be the best way for people to wake up.
If I am not mistaken, HIV medication does not decrease likelihood that others are infected, it only increases the lifespan. In that, it actually makes the virus more infectious, in a way, because the patient has more time to spread it.
If you know that isn't the case, I would be interested to see some sources.
I made the same mistake as you: I only read the older article that is linked last, so I thought the submitter did not notice that the rendering was done by a blade farm. But that Article is talking about an older project of the same group. The youtube video linked here is about a scene that is renderes in realtime by 3 network-linked PS3s. Just to clarify:)
Ok, I stand corrected. Seems there was a quite noticable effect...
Interesting part of the article:
"These results suggest that contrails can suppress both daytime highs (by reflecting sunlight back to space) and nighttime lows (by trapping radiated heat). That is, they can be both cooling and warming clouds. But what is the net effect? Do they cool more than they warm, or vice versa? "Well, the assumption is a net warming," Travis says, "but there is a lot of argument still going on about how much of a warming effect they produce."
So there are arguments about wether contrails have a net cooling or a net warming effect.
Yes, I have heard of "global dimming", but the claim that a few days without air traffic over a small percentage of the earth can cause it to be "measurably hotter". I doubt that.
Aaah, nice math but lack of vision over there. Let's list your assumptions:
In the next 400 years - Interest rates with typical earth investments will be r. - Overpopulation will not lead to massive rise in the value of real estate. - There will be no event making vast amounts of earth inhabitable. - The money that is saved from not doing terraforming projects is used for nice investments instead (By gouvernments!). - A terraformed Mars would lead to no buisness opportunities besides selling land.
Your example is funny. Lets suppose you had your way, and (100 cm)^3 were 10 Liter. So you take, lets say, a liter of milk. Not once, but you take 10 of those. So is that 10 Liter? Maybe you put that 10 x 1 L inside your 100 cm sided box. Is it filled? This has nothing to do with metric system but with cubing values. Besides, are imperial units even connected in that way? If you have the lengths of the sides of a cube, can you easily calculate its volume?
Disclaimer: I don't care what units anyone uses. To each their own.
Ok, I was drunk yesterday and I'm not a native speaker, so maybe the problem ist with me. But even after reading some of the linked pdf and articles I can't comprehend. Can someone tell me in plain words, who has copies of what and would like to have other files that were not produced (babble babble babble). I understand that it is about music and filesharing, I'm not dumb. Is this about an agent of the RIAA downloading files from Ms. Lindor, then they sue her about those and additional files that were there but that they did not download? Or what?
Almost any multi-channel soundcard works with OS X.

I recommend Lego Star Wars (EP 1-3 with EP4 bonus level), a hack'n'slash with some puzzles. LSW 2 upcoming (EP4-6). Has a really nice 2 player co-op.
Also quite nice is X-Men Legends (1+2), a WoW/Diablo-style RPG. Nice in 4 Player co-op. Although you could argue that co-op in a RPG is pretty standard, looking at the MMORPGs.
I don't know how the parent is "Offtopic" in any way. The misprint is obviosly meant to be "Mr. Ed Talking Horse Cock". Thanks to the AC for pointing that out to me, too:)
You clearly understand the difference between sarcasm and irony.
so worthless it is
without mentioning summer,
winter, spring or fall
Actually even if you do it's still not really a haiku.
Some 60 years ago there were people here in germany with very similar ideas to yours. Just a more direct approach.

The ink cartridges that come with cheap printers have only a small amount of ink in them.
It clearly states "Certified for Windows Vista"... No word about working condition.

> The planet got measurably hotter during the days immediately
> following 09/11, when all of America's airliners were grounded.
Either you have a source for this or I call bullshit.

I think Emacs can do all that, and more.
Would be very, very bizarre to SIGN a vote... But I presume, since you never voted, you don't know much about it (or care).
Definitively needs a flux capacitor.

Me and my fellow group, the PRIONIC SIX, strongly oppose this development.

Don't worry, they only had access to their own transactions and some from family & friends.
Ok, that makes sense in a way. Thank you.

> In that case, 99/100 people aren't trying to buy imported games anyway
You could argue that, if there were no region locking, imported games would be marketed more. So more people would know about them and buy them.

So you have a problem with sticking your genitals into a female body part that has teeth in it?
