[mythbuster]Well, now, *there's* your problem.[/mythbuster]
Does it occur to you people that the very existence of separate laptop and tablet markets means there's different use cases?
I can put together a gaming rig in my sleep, and have designed computing systems that have gone into space, and yet I have my little iPad for relaxing at home after work and I just want to watch a video or get some news. Why is that such an offensive and horrible thing to some folks?
Walls? It's loaded with ripped DVDs and torrented stuff.
Our meeting rooms are getting giant flat screen TVs clamped or bolted to the ends of the conference tables. SO much better than squinting at a screen projection from some projector with a bulb way past its prime.
As for MS, I was learning to code both OSes back in those days, and there were so many data structures in Windows that were identical to those in Mac OS, and I mean down to the individual variable spellings. It was pretty sad.
All this just so Bubba Joe can be stopped from getting high after work down at the power plant.
Well, that and the lucrative asset forfeiture laws. And power hungry sociopath politicians. And power hungry sociopath local police chiefs who love stroking their boners while arming up a military grade (well, in hardware if not training and mindset) SWAT teams for their town of 20,000.
Keep voting for BigGummint[tm], though, kids. I'm sure it'll all work perfectly once you finally get the just the right folks into just the right place. Any day now. Maybe after just one more Most Important Election Of All Time. Or two.
[Blue] Control. You get $14 dollars a share and YOU WILL LIKE IT! [Red] Destruction. Go bankrupt. [Green] Anti-synthesis. Split apart, releasing all the developers you gobbled up back to their formerly creative ways.
Why? Everyone repeats this mantra like robots. There's plenty of cheap third party cables for the existing connector, there will be for the new one. Anyone sitting around fretting over this has way too much free time.
Unless you sat in on the design reviews and tradeoff meetings, you have no idea what led to the decision. Off the shelf versus custom is a very common tradespace in engineering, and off the shelf is not the automatic slam dunk people outside hardware engineering think it is.
(as far as I know)

At least the government doesn't try to sell us an imaginary god.
No, it doesn't. However, it tries to sell us a whole other pile of imaginary bullshit.
Getting together and making rules is fine.
Do I start singing the Schoolhouse Rock theme here?
The problem with religion is all the fraud and deceit regarding an afterlife and supernatural beings.
True. However the problem with government is all the fraud and deceit regarding trillions of dollars and slaughtering people and destroying lives.
Ideology *is* a religion, or at least it is for the masses. The sociopaths preaching the holy writ of Party platforms are just using it as a tool.
How quaint.

Shouldn't an atheist say "those ancient dudes who made up the Bible chose not to..."?
Just sayin'
So... rape in a car back seat? o.O
So what *have* you had inserted in your head before this. :-D

Oh, woe, my dancing, talking bear can't sing an aria!
Well, Stanford wins on car choice, at least.
And if they did nothing, and the guy wound up shooting up a movie theater, people would be crying "Why did no one do anything? The signs were CLEAR!"
Crazy people. WTF ya gonna do with 'em?
Maybe law enforcement here will amaze us all and actually get the guy some help.
Oh, *nearly* typed that with a straight face!
Bitch, please...

Eh, I dabbled with Next, or NeXT or WTF ever. It has come a *long* way, baby. Win 3.1 to Win 7 type of long.
That Objective-C is still a weird beast, though, but in a fun way, sort of.
Well, Apple seems to care. *shrug*

Da fuq is a conflict mineral? Are those the gold coins I have to jump over a piranha plant to get?

I think that every day. Becoming an engineer, making a career from a hobby, what the biggest dumbshit mistake I ever made.
transactions in these categories often result in issues that can be difficult to resolve.
I have to sand down these horns every morning, and the seller keeps giving me the run around about the antidote and seapony tear scarcity.
Expeto Viagrus potion? My shiny metal ass!
Seriously, it's metal now.
Well that's silly. They'd completely miss the thing at night, and go hurtling off into the screaming void of space.
