  1. Re:Forget slashdot spelling... look at the science on Gravitational Wave Detection Imminent? · · Score: 1

    Interpretation of results may play an important role here. I am speaking of time/gravity interphasic harmonics. Or in other words which is which. What is really being revealed?
    As to spelling; look up traveling and travelling, or theorize and theorise.
    The Observer plays an important role in interpretation and construction of the experiment. If they believe a certain set of factors is true going into an experiment then what comes out of the experiment will be effected by those beliefs. There is also another "relative" effect concerning theory and observer effect. That is the limitation of the observer to see beyond that which the observer is relative too!
    Here is a synopsis of an experimental project which I have been working on for a number of years named IDIC. As you can see it offers potential differing views as to subjective interpretation on Gravitational/Time equations. Another interesting factor possibly effecting the experiment as stated above would be the "Optical Magnus Effect". (Google)
    Here is my concept;
    -------------------
    The Inter dimensional Imaging Chamber;
    The Inter dimensional Imaging Chamber, can be thought of physically, as a cube squared. A sort of three dimensional Tesseract, with only one cube added to the side of the original. It can also be envisioned , as having quite similar dimensions as the Ark of the Covenant, in the old testament of the Bible.
    While I must retain certain key technical aspects of the Chamber for confidential reasons, I am more than willing to discuss some of the basic physical attributes and theory behind the construction and operation of this device. It is constructed with an eye to controlling the flow of particles within the chamber in such a manner as to be able to observe the behavior of these particles in the most precise manner possible. The source of the particles is intended to be selectable, hence any source of particles is capable to being directed into this chamber.
    There will be a multitude of controlling fields available within the chamber, as well as a multitude of observational instruments which can be brought into play, in order to observe activity within the chamber.This is not to be confused with the old cloud chambers though there are similarities which may seem apparent. Interphasic harmonies will be a major potential within this device.
    The theory behind the operation of the chamber is speculative and is this; Time is indeed reflected by relative dimensions in space. If a mirror for instance were placed one half light year out in space and a telescope on earth was trained on it then any images seen returned through it would be actually of the earth one year in the past. This is a time reflective image, and it is thought that this may occur naturally with multiple forms of radiation.This is partially due to gravitational bending of radiation, largely near large gravitational sources such as suns, black holes and central areas of galaxies.Also there is some speculation as to interdimensional effects, which may include dark matter which is said to have gravitational effects on our observable universe. This leads to conjecture of potential faster than speed of light particle movement through mutidimensional travel. Indeed any act of your life may be out there floating around just waiting to be recorded and viewed again.(The universe never forgets.)
    Furthermore, it is postulated that there are superior beings, or creatures somewhere else in the universe, and that they have a means of communicating over vast distances of the universe, at a reasonable speed, between points, so that time lag is not too great of an issue. It is further postulated that these "faster than speed of light " transmissions are detectable and that this device might be able to detect said transmissions by observing the behavior of the interactions of observable particles travelling at or below speed of light, with relative particles travellin

  2. Re:Learn from nature on Rebuilding New Orleans With Science · · Score: 2, Informative

    Learning from nature is something I agree with 100%. Water tends to return to old pathways after having been re-routed time and time again. This has to due with the path of least resistence and the nature of gravity. One failure in the man made alteration is all it takes.

          It would also be wise to learn from NASA in it's systems designs and applications of triple redundancy in every system involved. Failures occurred here in several areas and there was not sufficient redundancy built into the plan to handle anything.

              There will now be toxic matter in the soil and drainage systems / structures, etcetera of the city, with potential of poisonous releases with every rain, unless massive areas of the landform are sealed with heavy barriers such as concrete to prevent water intrusion below. This may cause the need thereafter to raise many areas of the city above sea level with multiple partitioning of the city.The costs would be enormous.

          Right now we are pumping tremendous amounts of poison out of the city and while much of the Gulf Coast depends on fishing , this may end soon, if we create a far worse disaster, by our unthoughtfull nonconsideration of nature now. Let us hope the Gulf of Mexico does not become a poisonous Dead Zone of Toxic fumes that will spread over Florida, Mississippi, Louisianna, Texas, and Alabama, whereas we used to get healthfull oxygen from the Gulf.

    All that and more, The Made in China market is failing-intentional or not, the quality of computer electronics is terrible. I have had system after system having multiple hardware malfuntions.All China make . Is this part of a rebellion within the workers ranks, poor quality control,or conspiracy theory; as many fail just after warantee expires? Any way this continued failure rate will cause problems for Microsoft as there will be fewer systems functioning, and less software demand will fuel the market place. Think about how many of your microsoft programs are useless because the sytem they were tailored for no longer works!

    Yes a very weak prize. If a thousand people spend $10,000 each on research they will have spent 10 million, and that is on the cheap, it may take a lot more to really make a workable system. These space "prizes are an invitation to disaster. Like that Virgin Gimic - more a financed version of Death Trap incorporated than a feasable enterprise. Couldn't pay me enough to fly on that BOMB. Digital effects are not what all the hype says they are. When I see a digital Yoda , I remember the old Yoda. Maybe the old Yoda, didn't have all the facial features , but digital effects don't look real. They don't look like a solid surface. I know when I see a digital special effect that it is not real, it looks fake and that takes away from the enjoyment of the film. Everyone seems to play along like the effects are great, but not me. They are just remaking the digital mistakes so many recent films have been making. Anyone that says those effects look real needs glasses. Lucas has been sold a bill of goods. If they want to make a cartoon, fine, but I like the realism the 4th Star Wars in the series , or in other words the first one made. The models had solid bodies that had reality! So go ahead and make some more, but stop with the digital junk untill it really looks real. For those of you that have grown up with digital games, look with your eyes and see reality as it is, and then look at digital scenes. Sure the technology is impressive, but you are fooling yourself if you say it really looks real. There I've said it... the dictator is not wearing any clothes.

  7. Funding is a Joke on NASA's Plans for the Future · · Score: 2, Interesting

    Current funding for space exploration is a joke. We should be talking in Trillions of current US dollars. I know that sounds like an incredible amount but if it was spent now the return in profit would soon exceed the entire value of all the world's economies put together. New research needs to be done in all arenas of space; propulsion, energy, and environmental. Space offers the last potential for humanity. The Earth is running into a log jam of population and industrial production / food production. If money is not spent for the expansion into space now, we will melt down. Industry can be moved to space, but it won't come cheap, still the profit potential is quite literally astronomical. Environmental restrictions for industry on Earth are soon going to skyrocket, and that is needed if we want to survive. If new technologies are developed to increase efficiency for space travel, then industrial costs in space may actually turn out to be cheaper there in space than here on Earth. MYSTERY

  8. Posting Spam in Yahoo Groups on Microsoft Researchers on Stopping Spam · · Score: 1

    What I hate is when someone spams a member group so much with so many links in posts that the group ends up breaking up over the attacks. I just quit about 10 groups over the same spammer; Lou Gentile is supposed to be a talk show host on the radio, but he either/or knows 20 or 30 different people that are willing to post all the same posts every day, and I mean long posts that take up a lot of room in your email when they get forwarded to you from your group. So many names and everyday a new header- there is no way to filter it all. So I quit all the groups this was happening in. Of course now I am getting a few from them anyhow as they mined my email, but that I may be able to filter, may mind you, cause they are always finding a way to annoy. As to the rest of it, I skim the rest of my email just to make sure a piece of good email isn't in the junk. I never open anything I don't know. But I can spot a phish a mile away and that is begining to take more of my time as I feel it is my resposibility to report those to the fraud investigators. You see I do no electronic transfers of funds whatsoever, and any financial activity online raises immediate flags, everywhere. Any bank or paypal, ebay and so on, is known to be fraud. I don't even write checks. So I am able to help out a number of investigations groups by reporting and auto-alerting activity which is new. So there is talk of Spam not bothering people as much, well it seems to be screwing up my life pretty good. Ruins good groups, and I seem to be taking up 4 times more this year reporting fraud online.And I don't go looking for it, it comes to me. Jerks.
