*sigh* let's mod up anyone who's a google fanboi, that's the slashdot way!
Now, back in the real world, we see that Mr. Lee was an executive, with NDA trade secrets for one company. There's only ONE REASON google hired him. I hate to break it to you, but it's pretty much industry standard to have a no-compete clause in your exec's contracts. I gurantee google has the same thing for all of their execs so the whole "well google didn't know" is BS.
Microsoft doesn't have a right to mandate what work Lee can or can't do. But they CAN mandate what happens to their trade secrets, which is the whole point of non-compete's. I dunno if you're 16 and just don't know any better, are this naive, or just choose to pretend that it's not an egregarious breach of contract because it's "google!" either way, you're COMPLETELY wrong.

COMPLETE bs. We just nixed 3 people's "collections" that way in the last month. Doesn't matter if the collections agency purchased the debt or not. If it's paid directly to the original bill holder the collections agency has nothing to "go after". At worst the original bill holder can deny the payment, then it just requires some smooth talking and a bit of luck. I've yet to see someone have a collection stick on their record if they pay directly to the original bill holder... and last I checked we're still doing 50 loans a month+ out of the main office (yes, it's small business).

You pay the company that hired the collections agency directly. That way you can get it nixed from your credit report (I work in the industry, trust me).

If you have a "paid collections" on your credit report, while it's not AS BAD as an "open collections" you're still f-ed for 7 years until it comes off, and I believe it's like 20 points off your credit score, I'd have to double check that part.

Let me know how much you enjoy it when some new tech firm sprouts up in india. Then the people of india bust their asses for that company for 30 years, and then it just up and takes all those jobs elsewhere with no LEGIT reason besides wanting to make more money. Yes, that's capitalism, apparently I'm the only one that sees the flaw in that logic.

When's the last time someone went after IBM for monopolistic practices because they provide entire corporations "solutions"?
