    On the other hand for a student, like me, being able to say that your work is daily being watched by around 500,000 people looks good on your CV. I'l be entering, for sure.

    No games have been "banned", they just have age limits on them, in the same way we rate movies; I see nothing wrong with that, I don't think that young children should be allowed to see violent horror movies, or porn movies, by the same token I don't think that young children should be able to play games with those themes.

    I'm almost certain that PEGI ratings are just advisory, but the BBFC ones are mandatory, I have no idea why only some games get BBFC ratings, whilst others only have PEGI ones, and some have both. I think it has somthing to do with the cut scees in games, which would fall under the BBFC remit.

    I live in the UK, at least 90%+ of houses are built of bricks; I know of somme that arn't, but those are mostly some form of concrete. I know on your side of the atlantic wood, for example is very popular, but I don't know a single house made of wood.

    How is it any different to my ISP charging me to look at other people's content? The only difference is that one is online, the other is off line. Should that really make a difference, I'm sure the lawyers will argue that it does, but in reality there is little.

    It's for this reason that I've never understood why governments don't set the tax services (I don't live in the USA; We call the equivilent of the IRS the Inland revenue, there's no service about it on this side of the Atlantic.) onto "Teh Terrorists!!!" They are the only branch of the state that can track anyone down quickely and eaisly; surley they should be put in chrge of what you call "homeland security". ;)

    WOW!! I have a Windows XP\Linux Ubuntu Dual boot machine, I generally like to pride myself on my computer knowledge and am in the final year of a BSc In Software Engineering; I havn't even heard of a couple of those, though most of them I did, now if I, with quite a high amount of computer literacy compared with the general public didn't know this, how is your average consumer going to know, will they even understand once you tell them?

    Good instructions, they make a lot of sence; and I'll be printing a couple of copies off for my young cousins and their parents. However I see you finally got hold of the .com address (yes, as soon as you wrote that no adult with half a brain would visit, I typed it into Firefox's address bar)

    Well working that out to GBP it'll be between £349.88 and £419.98, so I'll not be getting one; I think it'll be a revolution for me. But It'll still sell, XBox 360s are still selling like mad here, and the PSP "Giga pack" (IIRC that meant with 3 games) was retaling at about £320, it sold well, of course I bought a DS with 3 games for £120. If the difference remains the same with the PS3 and revolution I can't see parents willing to buy their kids about £400 worth of equipment, when they can see another console right next to it priced £200 cheaper. It'll sell to the same people who bought the 360 though.

    I'm guessing that somone in the editorial tema thought that preadolesent, teenage girls liked ponies, so decided that OMG!!! Ponies!!! would be funny to put under the /. logo seing as the whole day of stories has been done in a myspace\preadolesent, teenage girl type style (see: http://slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=06/03/31/164422 5). The rest of us have picked it up and run with it.

    Also thanks to whoever started the blatent karma whoreing I can say this: I'm being informative and insightful, mod me up!!! and remain withint the theme of the day

    If the editors had the balls to continue the "Pony" theme for say, a week, then you'd have some sort of a Kaufmanesque type reality joke

    Don't give them ideas, this pink is burning my eyes out after just one day, a week and I'd be blind.
