That I do, but is a book about programming really necessary with the abundant information out there on the internet?
I would also like to clarify that I'm sure this is a good book and some people may find it very useful.
While I agree with you that it will take a while to become an expert coder by just learning from examples, but the same can be said for reading multiple 900 page books on the subject. Maybe it's just me, but I don't enjoy trudging through tons of text when I can just open up some code and go to work.
An honest question for anybody to answer. Do most people still learn by picking up a 900+ page book rather than learning from example? I find most technical books extremely difficult to finish so I very rarely attempt to read them.
I've found it nearly impossible for the company I work for to upgrade their infrastructure. Nothing has worked for me. Not even the threat of impending disaster.
It seems to me that MS simply won't patch certain things in IE. They haven't from the very beginning. Firefox is pretty new and will always have more security issues early on. Seems simple to me.
There have been studies that suggest sleep is simply a method for the brain to purge itself of "weak memories" (basically clean up the clutter) rather than rebuilding muscles/organs as you suggest.
Has anybody else read these studies? I wish I had a link for the one I read. I'll look for it.
That was very well said. You make good points. I guess nobody really knows what makes people do the things they do. I believe it's widely underestimated how one's self esteem effects how you act, your style and the decisions you make. It all comes down to people wanting attention. There are three types of people in this world. There are the folks who like attention, but are afraid of it. The people who love attention and seek it out any way they can. Then there are the poor people who understand the first two and are amused by the whole process WHILE either being afraid of attention or seeking it.
How does this effect the Stargate program?
Konfabulator... worst name ever? Not that it matters anymore.
What is this "paper" and "pencil" you speak of?
I agree completely about using a book as a reference. I still use the internet as my first source though.

Every time I see his name I cringe. Must we keep plugging him?

Why is there always a dude with a ponytail in these "fan movies"?
Thank you!
My brain hurts.
Where do I sign up to have my SS# stolen?
ZDNET is well?
