Actually I think he thinks plants live on a cellular level and animals on a central nervous system. If you take out the central nervous system in an animal it will no longer feel pain. If you chop up a plant it still feels pain. You can take a branch off a plant and put it in water and it will still live or grow it into another plant (depending on the plant). You cant cut the leg off a pig, cow or chicken and grow another animal from it. So when you are asking someone to be humane your asking the them to be nice to the lifeform that can scream the loudest.

There is a difference in actively moving in an armed group and aggressive tactics toward a front line and never committing a crime and being guilty for what you feel is right. In Germany you had people actively picking up arms against the US. In the drone strikes you had people actively driving or riding in a car. And while I hold no affinity for Al Qaeda I feel its treasonous for government official to kill a US citizen without a proper trial.

Devil's advocate here. There does seem to be a chance of paralysis with flu shots as well as allergies. Both can cause major problems for the person. I believe a person should be able to decide what they put in the their body and it should not be mandatory. There seems to be a large movement that we should do stuff for the majority and the minorities can suck it. I understand these are health care workers, But they should still have a choice. The hospital is paying for their service not their bodies. If the possibility of contamination is that bad they they should have more protective gear. As the flu vaccine would only work on the strains its designed for anyway.

Aswell technology has advanced and those changes need to be made.

I would think it is bringing stuff back. Other countries failed satellites would bring a great deal of data about them as well as ones that "failed" while in orbit. For example lets say North Korea sent a satellite up into orbit. You could send your vehicle up, get a look at it. jam the communications and make it look like a failure and bring the thing back to earth. Even leave a dummy to give a radar return. From that point your scientists could give you some pretty real data on the technology developments of North Korea.
