However there are some things in Opera that I can't or don't know how to change that drive me nuts, and I stop using it after about a week.

I am a serial tab opener. Middle click is like crack for me. When I go to a tab that I've opened, and read it, when I close the tab, I want to go to the next tab, not the previous tab. The next tab to the right, the next one I opened. Argh!
Also, on Linux (ubuntu) I have weird issues with flash not playing correctly, and it works great in Firefox (for a few hours, till I have to kill -9 firefox-bin, that is).
I suspect it's google chat, and all that AJAX stuff happening live, but on my G4 powerbook, going to gmail results in almost solid 100% CPU utilization.
Well, I'm not saying they should have to, but it would be nice if this kind of information was provided by the company pumping data into your cablemodem. At least this way you wouldn't have to worry about getting the right feed. It would automagically be right.
Hell, I might even pay an extra few bucks a month for that.
I think you might be missing the whole point of this...
Go to store.apple.com and find me all the cool things you can buy for less than $100. Aside from peripherals, that's like, a shuffle. iPhone owners will not buy a shuffle, I'm willing to bet. Apple will just increase its sales through this tactic.

I think you're relying too much on your premise that the Wachowski Brothers aren't retarded.
They did one thing well. The Matrix. Reloaded was on the fence, and could have been saved by Revolutions. But it wasn't. It crashed, burned, and died way faster than Trinity did. Then they did V for Vendetta. Cool story, but they didn't write the story. They shaved Natalie Portman's head. It wasn't a terrible movie, but it was an unremarkable movie. Only the broad overtones of the story had merit, and they didn't invent those.
No, I'm still pissed at them for ruining the Matrix. If they would have just left it as it was, they would have been known simply as the people who created one of the most amazing sci-fi movies ever, instead of the people who ruined one of the most promising sci-fi trilogies ever.
You're right, but it's not entirely altruistic, since in a way, I improve my condition when the society I am a part of improves. Of course, my material gains would be far greater if other people weren't thought of, but I'd still have to live with myself and my self-judgment.
It's not about buying cheaper electronics. It's about correcting a situation that has gradually been devolving America's ability to compete in the world market. More scientists lead to better science. It's that simple.
Even if you're not worried about better science, provoking individuals to become contributing members of society, and enabling those who might not have had the opportunity to learn because of their financial lot in life is a worthy cause for a government to undertake.

a week doesn't go by that I don't categorize a problem by OSI layer. It's still relevant as a logical abstraction, and it's used as such, regardless of actual protocol implementation.
Well, as I'm not likely to be taking advantage of this particular program, but I probably will be paying taxes into it, you might have found an exception.
Unless, of course, you mean in the sense that as a citizen of the United States, I am asking you to make my life better by encouraging my other citizens to improve themselves, in which case I suppose you may have a point, although I'm trying to make your life better, as well.
Well, to play the numbers game, if you assume that only 5% of teachers really like the job and are good at it, then 5% of 10,000 is a lot better than 5% of 1,000, or however many we have now.
Rather than tax cuts for businesses, why not apply additional taxes to businesses that hire foreign workers over equally qualified Americans, which would help pay for the education of American workers?
There's no reason the teacher HAS to quit after 4 years. If they like teaching, there are always going to be more schools in need of teachers, especially if the population trend keeps it up.
It's not just in the summary; read the article, it dishes out the abuse
You can't forget "yea, but what extensions do you have installed?"
This is very true.

Same here. "Your computer is running low on disk space". Reboot computer, 1.5GB free.
I actually just reverted to firefox 1.5 on my powerbook (thank you http://mac.oldapps.com/firefox.php), so we'll see how it goes.
Aside from working in a facility with a pre-existing setup like this, how does one go about educating themselves on how SANs of this magnitude work?
I'm not sure it's FUD, since that means "Fear Uncertainty and Doubt"
It's more, inaccurate, or maybe a result of shallow researching, or at the very least simplified.
absolutely, but the gains that you might find would (in my opinion) outweighed by the comparatively huge loss of driver support
I would miss the extra functionality in gnuDate.
to be able to do this makes me a very happy person

No, I meant if GNU took their code and went home, we could use the standard BSD tools.
You don't think we could use the BSD code if we needed to?
If you're waiting on a camera to save the image, then I promise that you're not using a DSLR (at least a Nikon, which is what I use).

Very intelligent of them.

I believe what the gentleman is trying to do is change the way the system works.
In any event, a country full of science teachers is a lot more desirable than a country full of fast food jockeys.

You know, sometimes you have to do what's best for everyone, instead of what's best for yourself.
Ever look into games theory?
