You need to get some perspective. You cannot treat cancer in the ER. You cannot treat mental illness in the ER. You cannot treat heart disease in the ER. And the ER isn't free. They'll be happy to send you a bill once you're patched up. It's just they can't (legally) refuse to treat you. The fact is, the USA has one of the lowest life expectancies of any western nation. And perhaps more disturbingly, the same is true for infant mortality.
A lot of commenters seem to be missing a key point in the summary. Cheques will only be phased out if "adequate alternatives are developed". It's pointless to talk about current payment options when, presumably, something better will be developed in the next decade. I think a payment by text system would be good. The payer texts his bank to authorise a transfer to the payee's account, then the payee immediately receives a text from his bank indicating a transfer has started.
My argument is that comparing the actions of one supposedly progressive country to a corrupt theocracy is pointless, and that one would hope that Israel would not be so reactionary. And FYI, the text of my reply was not copied, I have not read the post you are referring to.
By and large, international users of the iPhone are not experiencing the same crippling 3G data problems AT&T users have. The iPhone may have lower sensitivity, but AT&T users are unable to connect due to the volume of users in large cities. That, and the fact that users of other 3G phones on AT&T have the same problems.
I was standing on top of a mountain and could get 4 networks.
Same thing happened to me. Standing at the top of a mountain and noticed that I had full signal. Then I turned around, and noticed that the restaurant behind me had a radio mast on top of it.
That's irrelevant. There are plenty of injustices being perpetrated all over the world, but I don't see the US taking any interest in them. You can't just go around invading sovereign states without legal backing.
Not likely. The reason Nokia is suing Apple is that Apple refused to mutual licensing. Apple presumably wanted to pay the same licensing fee all other mobile manufacturers do, but Nokia wanted to swap their patents for Apple's.
Jailing diplomats is especially not allowed. It would be a profoundly stupid thing to do, and would basically stop any kind of diplomatic contact between the two countries for decades,
Bullshit. If that were true, Hitler could still have invaded Switzerland and kept his gold. It would have been impossible to smuggle out. Hitler planned to invade, but kept putting it off. He, and his military strategists, realised that they would quickly get bogged down trying to invade. Especially when the Swiss defence strategy shifted from guarding the borders to retreating to alpine strongholds. Hitler would have lost huge amounts of resources trying to take Switzerland, to little strategic advantage.
Admittedly, Switzerland did trade with Axis powers, but they had to if they wished to remain free. They were blockaded both by the Allied and the Axis powers. Switzerland were basically paying a protection racket. As long as they kept producing resources for Hitler, they had a lower risk of being invaded.
You seem to have a very black and white view of history. Many countries, Allied and Axis, did very regrettable things during the world wars (The USA bombed Switzerland several times during WW2). Simplistic views are much easier to hold, but they are nowhere near to the truth.

Chip and Pin was implemented in less than ten years. And that required far more new equipment than the payment method likely will.

What the fuck are you talking about?

That argument didn't work on the playground, and it doesn't work now.
Are you serious?
My guess is that he has now realised that he hasn't got the time to have another person reporting to him.

But you don't need to put down a city! You can just leave that field blank.
That makes no sense. Facebook requires very little info from you, but you'll just confuse your friends by listing false details.
Autorotation, look it up.

Yes, I know that you can use a keyboard for text entry, I was referring to using it as a game controller.
Microsoft forbids developers from supporting keyboard and mouse I believe. Besides, it would give you an unfair advantage over gamepad users.
Bear in mind that a lot of internships are unpaid.
[citation needed] and if that's so then it's only because Apple are making millions of them.
We don't need to imagine, because that's what happened. The USA only entered the war because it became clear it would affect them.
England? Edinburgh University has a research ranking for Computer Science second only to Cambridge in the UK.
FYI, I've downloaded the odd TV series, I guess coincidentally the ones I chose were all large RARs.

Yes.
