...has been made and I am so glad I was alive to see it.
I wish him the all the best as he tries to clear up almost a decade of shit and overt neo-conservative crap.
Let us all hope, myself from the UK and billions of others around the planet, that he stays true to his vision and gives us all a safer and better world in which we all can live.
Now that is one of the major problems - they always argue about the style of the text on their "business" cards and invites.
Once-upon-a-time it used to be just 'oh hi, i'm furry, cuddle me' now it's all 'touch me and I'll sue' 'if you ever use that elephant again the repugnants will lose the 'lection''
Oh shit: Saturday night, England, Bristol, Beers. Sorry; oh, what do I say now? My Bad???
This El Reg Story talks about our dear Labour party possibly out-sourcing our entire 2011 census data to Lockheed Martin.
I find it extremely worrying that such personal and private data (this time they're going to be asking us about sex habits - with criminal penalties for not answering) could even be considered as being able to be off-shored.
Our current government are a laughing-stock and, unfortunately, very dangerous to personal privacy as well.
They seem not to be able to learn from mistakes and continue plunging down a path of idiocy and stupidity that make Eden and Macmillan (previous prime ministers with none-too-savoury records) look almost angelic in comparison.
I'm still using Dos 6.22 so I hate to welcome my new view./buy a new view, buy a new PC?//slashies///M$ have got to be out of their tiny minds////soz Steve, the chair missed
I am, I'm afraid to say, an XP addict because of my gaming needs. If my local LUG (Bristol, UK) was still around (webby last updated 2002/2004 depending upon which site one reads) I would use their skills to help me set up a decent linux/wine rig. Unfortunately without a local LUG I will have to remain with winblows until I can find a local geek to help. I really want to use LINUX but the published stories I have seen about driver issues and hardware/gaming incompatibilities really put me off - as do the number of distros and what they do/do not do. On a slightly tangential topic: I have an AMD64 2gHz 1gig Ram setup. I play win games - guild wars, painkiller, MoHAA, CoD etc. Could I play these successfully if I switched to a Linux distro with Wine? I have no idea, no knowledge, but I want to leave the win os setup.
Yeah - I'd forgotten that side of it, oh how memory let's us down with age. It used to take a fair while to coax a match into a decent semblance of rapidly moving frames.
I think it was Quake where I'd keep killing until performance died, then used a clear garbage console command to remove the corpses. I'd like a similar command IRL but to remove jerks in the town centre.
Watch a few seconds of slo-mo video-taped advert for a 99 cent piece of dead chicken? Good God corporate america really have your countrymen sussed don't they.
"Network operators can identify the digital "packets" of content moving through their wires from sites and services and can block some or put others at the head of the stream." CENSORSHIP
"Rather, he said, a pay-for-performance marketplace should be allowed to develop on top of a baseline service level that all content providers would enjoy."
I wonder if this dickhead would want his service restricted. If he wants to bring it on, on BellSouth then let him - I'm sure his shareholders will get kinda miffed when they lose subscribers hand-over-foot.
WTF is it with these guys? Have they been smoking soooo much dope that they've become paranoid about the responses to their businesses? Sooner (hopefully) rather than later) these pricks will understand that the net has become a utility and we, the humble users, will stand up for our rights and shoot these f**kers down.
Naturally.
Well said. This is a day the whole planet can celebrate.
Hallelujah! Or something non-denominative and equally joyous.

We are sorry you do not have a license to signal the retreat. Please withdraw your last post immediately. Thank you.
Does anyone know if I can get any of the Tex Murphy games (preferably just Under A Killing Moon & The Pandora Directive) anywhere? TIA

Verily I concede (while stroking your back and tickling under your chin).
Posted by someone with "Fox" in his/her name???
Great idea - I won't buy it though, just point me to a torrent.

I would always recommend the first Neverwinter Nights (which, if you need it, has a Linux port).

Ditto. I got a 360 in mid December or so. XBox Live has been flakey since the day I got it.
So now I know onto whom the blame should fall.

I think it may be "go Grisham yerself old chap" or perchance "if only Steve Irwin was still alive..."
Only 58 errors? I'd've thought there'd've been loads more.
OT: I was going to use "Therein lies the rub" as the title, but it looks like that is an abuse of the original phrase.
Surely in a music related thread it would "Theremin lies the rub"

That was bloody interesting to me, a win gamer.

Where's my SOMA?
No - they use the money the same way you yanks do - subjugating sovereign states and bolstering "defence" spending rather than doing anything good.
