Building a car with metric nuts and bolts is no big deal, its done all the time. However I see no reason to change how we buy gasoline, milk and orange juice, or how we measure how fast we are going on our roads, just to suit snotty Euro-trash Sensibilities.
There is absolutely no reason Scientist in the states cannot use Metric for their research, in fact I would say that any that do not are rather daft in the head. And If they don't Like converting their work for the rest of us when it comes into public us, Then what the hell are we paying them for anyway.
They Tried Ditching Finder when OS X was first in beta, before the 10.0 release. Apples customer core base pitched a fit. Its there because long time Mac Users demand it be there, and will be there until
A) Apple decides to tell these users where they can go (Never Happen)

I checked with several GameStop stores, and all were giving away the battlefield 2142 usb memory keychains with any pre-order instead of just with the game, I asked why, and they said because they weren't getting the pre-orders to give them away.
Now this is rather localized info, but still I don't think KC is the only place this is happening.
For me, it wasn't all that difficult to install, but it was horrendously time consuming.
7 hours to compile the kernal. 3 days to compile x 7.9 days to compile kde and then it was glitchy as hell.
It just wasn't worth the time on the machine I had available to run it on at home. PIII 500 Mhz with 384Mb Ram. Yes I know its not the worlds fastest machine.
So To save Time, I slapped Ubuntu on it. It works and does what I want, and it took me less than 4 hours to install, patch and add packages to get all i needed on it.

I knew it was a good thing that I am still hanging onto my Mac OS 0.98 system disk. I have almost every Mac OS that was released, even though I no longer have the machines that run them.
I am not only a current player of Ultima Online, I also have 3 accounts. I also play their 2.5d(3d)client instead of their SouthPark quality 2d client. Mostly because the 3d client supports modern monitors and High res better, along with a few UI features that dont exist in the original 2d client. (resizable Containers to name one).
What UO needs most is a good Scalable 3d client, that maintains the isometric camera angle. The Worst thing that could happen to UO is to turn in into an FPS or an over the shoulder perspective. As long as the EA dev team sticks with that sorry 2d client the artwork in UO is always gona be less than stellar(2d pixil graphics don't scale).
If the Mythic team can get UO a new 3d client great. Or if they are finally gona make a sequal, great. But its long past time for the status quo to end.
We have at a minimum 100 more years of heating and drought to go through before the wet/cool cycle starts again. So really Why should I care? The NSA monitoring calls between the US and other countries is nothing new, its been occuring well over 30 years now. FYI the NSA monitors all calls that have to be relayed by satelite across an ocean. If you happen to much such a call, unless your encrypting it, expect their search algorithm, to check it for keywords they are looking for. The only reason it is a problem now is because someone decided to blame Bush for it and call it domestic spying. (Domestic would be state to state not state to France btw)
All these recorded calls get sifted by computer accourding to preset key words or by the location of one end of the call, any call that doesnt have the words or isnt directed at a suspect nation, gets auto deleted without a human even seeing it. So if you dont want the NSA hearing your call, Don't use words such as bomb, assassination, target, and Bush in your phone calls to places in the Middle East and or France.

Everytime I do a google search, I always open the links in a new tab via firefox. My average is 8 to 15 pages of search results gone through, depending on the topic. I have been known to wade through over 100 pages of results on occasion if I am looking for something important at that particular moment.
I don't tell people I am from Oklahoma, because I know that 90% of the popluation of that state outside of Oklahoma City and Tulsa don't know jack about IT, The internet, Security, Or that anything but MS windows can run on a PC. Its really rather embarressing.
