Not to me, it isn't. It's about open web standards. I don't give a fuck if you run a FOSS or proprietary client platform - public websites should use open standards that are published by standards bodies, not something that is controlled by a single company.

Windows 7's issue here isn't anything based on capabilies, design, or limitations. Its that "It wasn't approved by Apple fanboys" and nothing else.

Funny how not so long ago, Apple and its users were insignificant and doomed to obscurity, irrelevant in the face of the Windows behemoth, but now somehow "Apple fanboys" wield immense power to control entire industries.

Alternatively, it might be that your analysis is way off and not really based on reality. I wonder which is more likely?

Hell, that's why we have regulations - companies can and do harm people in the pursuit of profit unless they are punished or restricted from those harmful activities.

I believe that the numbers typically quoted come from Pinch Media, who is the fairly big player in 3rd party analytics on the various iDevices, and who attempts to collect numbers on jailbroken devices and pirated application installs, among numerous other variables.

And the methods they use to do so appear to be complete bullshit. It is actually collecting statistics on applications that "use the Pinch Media network." Which is pretty damn irrelevant. If you look at their reports, there is heavy spin on how they report their figures, and appear to be particularly weighted by figures from China and Russia.

Yes, but people still do it. It's very commonplace. Even if they also use animal or chemical fertilizers, most home gardeners also compost their vegetable waste.

Regarding the vegan thing, I've seen vegans go to extreme lengths to preserve the purity of their lifestyle. Composting being time consuming is hardly a blip on the radar when you're also making your own soy milk and tofu, avoiding all pre-processed foods and using only hand-powered implements to process raw ingredients.

They might not use something "sophisticated" (i.e DSLR), but when they want to take photos, they use a dedicated camera, typically a compact digital point-and-shoot camera. Not necessarily. You can make fertilizer purely from vegetable waste. Or crude oil for that matter!

The question of whether excrement counts as an "animal product" for vegan purposes is an interesting question. Not being a vegan, I don't really care, but I think the main consideration is whether the animals are farmed specifically for their products or not. But there are many different vegan philosophies, so that may be way off depending on who you speak to.
