Maybe that's why you are a former mechanic. A good mechanic knows that 90% of the time on a specific car that a misfire on cylinder 3 is that leaking head gasket you have either fixed 50 times or read about in the TSB. Shitty mechanics are shitty mechanics with or without a scanner.
Mod down. Total FUD. Anyone that knows the basics of how a modern engine works can use a cheap scan tool to help find many issues.
Mechanics don't want you to know that so they have a harder time ripping you off for a simple job. Dealers want you to buy the parts and service from them. Most mechanics are crooks, or at least the shops they work for are. Too many friends ripped off.
Plenty. Scanner $20. New sensor $10 for a MAP sensor - $100 for a O2 sensor.
I bought my scanner new from ebay for $20. It handles CAN protocol connects to my laptop with USB or BT and is usable from many software apps.
There are many software apps that are easy to get have way more functionality than the handheld scanners. I can do everything from find a failing sensor to reprogram the fuel delivery curve.
Dentists here do just the opposite. If you have insurance the filling is $150 without it it's $80.
I can't speak much about doctors since I live in Canada and you just get health care. It's about $40 per person per month for my family and I never need to worry about being denied coverage
I'm not a fan of censorship but I'd love it if my government made it more difficult for kids to get realistic war games.
Everyone I know that favours FPS games are under 25. It seems the older crowd prefers RPG and RTS. I guess my age group (40+) just doesn't make up much of the gaming market.
It's not the same. On the rare occasion that I do play online I don't whine during game play. In fact I don't chat to other users unless I absolutely need to.
Why do I need to join battle.net for a game I only want to play against the computer. Playing against people online gets very tiring. It's hard to find anyone online that doesn't act like a spoiled six year old. Just shut up and play.
Sometimes money needs to take a back seat to ethics. Google seems to be one of the few companies that won't sell their soul to the highest bidder. Let's hope they stay that way.
Let me type even slower.. They are promoting the uptake of environmentally friendly transportation (a good thing). I am happy that the government is using some of our money to help the planet instead of just having fun blowing shit up in Iraq.
I wish I could mod you up. The Canadian people are supposed to make our laws. If we don't want your copyright laws too bad for you. I'd rather live without even seeing another European book or movie in my life then have them make my laws. Mr. PM are you listening?
Almost all security guards here do not carry guns, most don't even have a license. The only security guards I can think of that carry sidearms are armoured car guards. Come to think of it most sheriffs don't carry guns, they are more interested in the Dodge Magnums they drive than Colt magnums
They are all scrambling for new theories on how to get research money now that string theory is loosing momentum. What Brian Greene has been up to lately?
I think you are don't understand what the Nobel Peace Prize is. It's not given out based on the accomplishments of the recipient, it's based on idealism and effort.
Obama holds one of the most powerful political posts on the planet and yet he is attempting to use that power to better the place we live.
Bush never won the prize because he is just a fool that likes blowing shit up and blaming everything on the brown people. With Bush it was always an "us or them" attitude and he was never one to say we're all in this together let just try to make the best of it.
In my career of twenty years as a software developer I have yet to be asked to write an essay. The closest I have come to that is a few comment blocks is source code that nobody reads. I'm not saying that reading and writing skill aren't useful, just not applicable to my job.
Funny, I didn't read anything in the article about sharks.
It may be quite a few years down the read but there are other solid state technologies that don't use NAND chips.
Ferroelectric, holographic, phase-change, nanotube, ....
Last time I checked a pound was not a unit of pressure. On that note, I wish pounds weren't used to measure anything.
You are wrong.
Which saves more fuel - convincing 100 people to update their pickup that gets 10MPG to a truck that gets 20MPG or 100 cars going from 40 to 50?
Changing it from MPG to G/1000M (or L/100K) is a change in mindset. I should be thinking how much fuel I'm burning rather than how far can I drive.

You can transmit a wireless AP signal through the coax. 75ohm coax will result in some signal loss but it will work for your needs.

or use a balun to match the impedance or use one of these.

I thought I'd never figure out what this thread was about.

If it was only that easy to explode heads I'd be posting a lot more comments on /.
"Moreover, even if they are, it's pretty difficult for a normal consumer to figure how how much energy a television will use"
Isn't that what Energyguide stickers are for?
If you want people to use less electricity charge more for it and use the tax to fund something good like public transit
