    You are wrong.

    Which saves more fuel - convincing 100 people to update their pickup that gets 10MPG to a truck that gets 20MPG or 100 cars going from 40 to 50?

    Changing it from MPG to G/1000M (or L/100K) is a change in mindset. I should be thinking how much fuel I'm burning rather than how far can I drive.

    Maybe that's why you are a former mechanic. A good mechanic knows that 90% of the time on a specific car that a misfire on cylinder 3 is that leaking head gasket you have either fixed 50 times or read about in the TSB. Shitty mechanics are shitty mechanics with or without a scanner.

    Mod down. Total FUD. Anyone that knows the basics of how a modern engine works can use a cheap scan tool to help find many issues.

    Mechanics don't want you to know that so they have a harder time ripping you off for a simple job. Dealers want you to buy the parts and service from them. Most mechanics are crooks, or at least the shops they work for are. Too many friends ripped off.

    Plenty. Scanner $20. New sensor $10 for a MAP sensor - $100 for a O2 sensor.

    I bought my scanner new from ebay for $20. It handles CAN protocol connects to my laptop with USB or BT and is usable from many software apps.

    There are many software apps that are easy to get have way more functionality than the handheld scanners. I can do everything from find a failing sensor to reprogram the fuel delivery curve.

    Dentists here do just the opposite. If you have insurance the filling is $150 without it it's $80.

    I can't speak much about doctors since I live in Canada and you just get health care. It's about $40 per person per month for my family and I never need to worry about being denied coverage

    I'm not a fan of censorship but I'd love it if my government made it more difficult for kids to get realistic war games.

    Everyone I know that favours FPS games are under 25. It seems the older crowd prefers RPG and RTS. I guess my age group (40+) just doesn't make up much of the gaming market.

    It's not the same. On the rare occasion that I do play online I don't whine during game play. In fact I don't chat to other users unless I absolutely need to.

    You can transmit a wireless AP signal through the coax. 75ohm coax will result in some signal loss but it will work for your needs.

    Why do I need to join battle.net for a game I only want to play against the computer. Playing against people online gets very tiring. It's hard to find anyone online that doesn't act like a spoiled six year old. Just shut up and play.

    Almost all security guards here do not carry guns, most don't even have a license. The only security guards I can think of that carry sidearms are armoured car guards. Come to think of it most sheriffs don't carry guns, they are more interested in the Dodge Magnums they drive than Colt magnums

    I think you are don't understand what the Nobel Peace Prize is. It's not given out based on the accomplishments of the recipient, it's based on idealism and effort.

    Obama holds one of the most powerful political posts on the planet and yet he is attempting to use that power to better the place we live.

    Bush never won the prize because he is just a fool that likes blowing shit up and blaming everything on the brown people. With Bush it was always an "us or them" attitude and he was never one to say we're all in this together let just try to make the best of it.

    Let him do his job.

    In my career of twenty years as a software developer I have yet to be asked to write an essay. The closest I have come to that is a few comment blocks is source code that nobody reads. I'm not saying that reading and writing skill aren't useful, just not applicable to my job.
