  2. Advice on Best Tablet PC For Classroom Instruction? · · Score: 1

I've had experience with HP, Acer, Fujitsu, Itronix, Toshiba, and Motion Computing. Our customers have purchased hundreds of tablets and I hear it when they don't work as advertised.

Do youself a favour and get a convertable with a built in webcam. I've seen refubished ones on Ebay for around $600.

The expensive ones are better but not usually worth the extra money. You can replace an Acer or Fujitsu three times for the price of a high end Toshiba or Motion machine.

Avoid machines with 1.8" drives like the plague. They are SLOW and usually around 80GB.
Make sure it supports 2GB ram, 1GB is usually enough though.
A 4 hour battery really lasts for 2 hours.
Price out replacement batteries. You will need to replace it every year. The ones I bought off Ebay are as good as the OEM ones for 1/2 the price.
Make sure it is visible in bright light and sunlight.
Call the support line before you buy to see if you get through. I found Acer support the best YMMV.
    Slate tablets are useless.

That is not the case here in BC. Bars or pubs may require up to two pieces of ID, one of them must be a government issued photo ID. Most bars here do not even ask for ID if they are resonably certain you are of legal drinking age. I'm very happy with the privacy commisioner's ruling. I'm one of the people that sent in a complaint. What pissed me off is now that bar has my driver's license, my credit card number, my birthday, my address, and my photo. When I get my new drivers license next moth the first thing I am going to do is try to disable the smart chip.

Who says the universe has a finite age? The observable universe might have an age if defined in such a way as creation by some large scale event (aka big bang) What we know of the universe is just one "big bang event" out of a possible infinite number of others over an infinite amount of time. I think the problems begin when astrophysicists make the assumption that universe was created in the first place.

Maybe some people just don't understand the storyline well enough to follow along. Oh and I liked the sex, nudity, violence too. I have a kid that is 14 and I wouldn't mind him seeing the movie but I would need to prepare him and explain the story before seeing it. It seems americans try to censor things instead of understand them.

Why do some people need faith? I was open minded enough to read a good chunk of the Bible, I even went to church regularly and decided it wasn't for me. Perhaps a few of them should read some of Richard Dawkin's books and see things from my perspective. I'm guessing not very many would even consider it. I really don't care if someone has personal beliefs just don't force them on me or my children. I also want to say how grateful I am that I don't live in Texas.
