    consider a 22KHz sine wave going from -1 to 1, being sampled at 44KHz. suppose your first sample of amplitude is 0.5. what is values of all samples after that?

    The real world always has noise too.

    The digitizing process is lossy by the limited bit resolution per sample (even if we agree the sample rate is sufficient).

    As to sample rate, most real instruments make ultrasonics and infrasonics, those are left behind by a CD, and might be important even if not registered consciously.

    that should soften the mood though, to tell surrounding women you "don't want to die a virgin" as you attempt to rip their shirts and bras off. Surely at least one in ten would buy that line. Let me know how it goes.

    And if you carry a bottle of water with you can make any bra at least partially effective as a smoke filter, as I recall firefighter's advice to "put a wet towel over your face and head toward exits".

    UnixWare and OpenServer, there are still places that run those for point-of-sales and financial systems. I know a couple towns (clients of my employer) that run it in their city halls for licenses, inspections, permits and fees. Can't talk them into changing it, either.
