I agree with you. My context was really "in the next couple decades" as my post was focused on pragmatism.
It is entirely possible that after we are dead, another supreme court will rule this is unconstitutional.
It is extremely unlikely (impossible) this will happen during the next 20 years. The SC does change positions but it doesn't flip-flop.
It's unlikely this will happen 20-40 years from now.
You need look no further than the shock and depression after Romney wasn't elected and the immediate acceptance of Palin as a quality candidate to see how irrational the republican party has become. It's hurting them. It was clear the prior august that Romney wasn't going to win. It was obvious that Palin wasn't qualified within two weeks (and I'm being generous).
A significant part of the republican party (I'd guess about a third but perhaps half) has accepted reality on the ACA and is moving on to fight it other ways. It's widely accepted that now that the ACA actually is providing health care- it will not be terminated. That's reality.
It's painful because the part I identify with most (the tea party) also has the highest wackjob percentage. I'm a strong fiscal conservative who thought the Sequester was brilliant (insufficient of course but brilliant nonetheless).
As a fiscal conservative, it's equally obvious that the current method of paying 10x the cost in the emergency room to treat people is very innefficient and our health care cost is higher and our outcomes lower than 27 other first world nations.
We will not let people to take personal responsibility for their health care and as a result bleed out on the sidewalk outside the hospital because they skipped insurance. We will not let people with pre-conditions die in a similar fashion.
Given those priors- it's clear we must have a different system and we should treat health care is more like national defense or the road system.
They have decent key action and they are tiny but have every keys in a standard configuration. The keys are standard size. It worked so well I bought some for a friend and she took to it well and said it her hands got better over time. She works on a laptop and she had to plug one directly into the laptop for this to work. So she has
Devices+keyboard to HUB to Laptop and keyboard directly to Laptop.
My keyboards are tilted different amounts with sticky pads (which you can peel to very precise heights!) for comfort and as I mentioned- I move them slightly once in a while. Basically 1" up/down/left/right from a "home" spot. It keeps the fascia and muscles from locking down.
I'm happy to hear this might help you!
There is no real "middle"- you can shift the keyboards left or right to settle your hands wherever you want. I found it easiest to transition to the same side of the keyboard PLUS- your teres muscles (underarm) and your infraspinatus (shoulder blade) and subscapular (between shoulder blade and ribs) muscles get terrific wear from holding your arms inwards. A slight natural outwards tilt allows those muscles to relax.
I've seen people crippled from those tiny muscles getting mad. If you are already hurting badly- you may want to look up the trigger point book by Clair Davies. Amazing stuff.
But... you sound like one of those "The government doesn't have authority to levy income tax" whackos.
If the supreme court ruled it was legal, there is zero chance the supreme court is going to come back and say it tried the case illegally. Even if you are correct- which you probably are not.
And if the supreme court said it's constitutional- then it's constitutional. Full Stop.
It may suck in other ways. It may be poorly implemented. It was definitely passed in a slackdash way.
But you are wasting your life energy and merely looking irrational continuing to pursue this particular line of argument.
Get two, small, $10 keyboards. Put them on your desk so they are in the right place for your hands.
Type as normal- takes 30 seconds to adapt and get back to full speed. Hand pain heals or is prevented in the first place.
Move the keyboards around in a small radius as the day goes by (an inch left-- an inch right)-- this prevents your extensers and flexors from locking in one position. Tilt as needed with sticky pads.
Best "keyboard" I ever owned. Recommended it to friends. Those who tried it converted.
Basically the set up looks like

True-- problem with a forum like this which could render communication useless unless you adjust for your circumstances.
Where I live in texas, the range was 100k for a 3/2 to 240k for a 4/3 with a den in a really nice neighborhood. And some neighbors and contact are probably more useful than others. My college and dnd buds were helpful. But to my fundamental point- being agreeable and respecting others opinions at work (even when they were not perfectly correct) was important to my success.
I knew smarter people who were argumentative who didn't do well as they could have. I know many people with great incomes who not only can't retire early but would be destroyed if they lost their job even for a few months. But they have dodge Vipers and 275k houses (now 350k houses).
Actually really stupid people and people of average intelligence are easier to get to change their minds than genius level people in my person 30 year's of experience.
The key bit is that really smart people are rarely wrong, they have huge amounts of self image and self esteem at stake, and they can be very creative in coming up with new reasons why they are not wrong.
I say this for the benefit of others of course... not you.
First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win.

Solar power continues to get cheaper. I'm interested in the implications for the broader energy market. Even a 5% drop in demand for coal, natural gas, and oil could have a tremendous impact on the boarder market.
I was able to retire. I have bought art supplies but actually spent more time playing minecraft, extra time with my grandchildren.
IT in the US currently is pretty terrible for the vast majority. Inexpensive offshore labor is the main reason. That's slowly changing towards parity.
But low status and expectation to work nights, weekends, and holidays are also problems with the field. I also found SOX sucked the joy out of programming-- documenting that my last gig, it cost 47 days to make a change of any size (1 line, 1000 lines) just for SOX overhead and meetings. And all changes had to be understood and improved in advance. So almost nothing of a refactoring or foundational nature was ever approved. And many beneficial changes were rejected because they didn't justify 47 days of meetings and overhead.
Bleh.
Happy I'm retired. Closing on a year now. It's been fantastic. It only took 18 years to save for it. ACA allowed it to come a lot earlier (several years).
Had a friend who had these. Nothing they tried worked.
I found some sticky pads on the web (MUCH cheaper at farmer stores apparently).
Put one under each bed leg.
Problem solved very quickly.
Also tried disposable plastic containers filled with Talc under each leg. That stopped the biting but didnt' kill the bugs.
We were amazed by how many other bugs got caught on the things.
Spiders-- silverfish-- doodle bugs-- no roaches so that was nice.
Anyway recommend them. They will mess up carpet tho so you would need to put something under them if you have carpet.
Look- you and your neighbors could dig that trench in about 1 day (each person digging their own 2' deep, 1' wide trench.
You could then buy the line for under $500 bucks.
So then it's just a question of getting comcast to hook to it.
Good points.
How likely do you think that the ACA will be overturned any time in the next two decades now that it's gone into practice?
I put the odds under 1% personally.
If you wanted to bet money, I'd want 100:1 odds to be on the ACA being overturned now.

They do have a deep background of being polite or being killed or compelled to commit suicide for hundreds of years. Much deeper than the U.S.
Those polite elements are degrading over time now that that potential has been removed.

There is unbelievable amounts of every kind of porn out there now.

There are many sites with free porn in copious quantities. So where is the value to bitcoin?

Have to watch out for funny use of percentages too.
For example, when you say pot increases psychotic episodes by 50% and the increase was from 7 per 1,000 to 10 per 1,000.
I'd like to see the basic rate per 1,000 or per 100,000 included when they say things like this.
In my mid 20's the first time. I stumbled across it in a used book store.
I made sure my daughter read it as well. That and Dale Carnegie have really helped her career (as well as her good work ethic, etc.)
Mod parent up.

Many of my friends are between 6 months and 2 *years* behind current broadcast schedules.
I watch very little network television (POI & Elementary).
Living below my means was critical as well.
I really think the 250k house basically prevents you from retiring.

How to be People Smart by Les Giblin.
This book greatly contributed to my retirement at age 51.
The advice on only giving yourself 1 no per 9 yes's will completely change the way you interact with others in a highly positive way.
The rest is equally good. Very basic. Very obvious. But few know or practice anything except knowing the most important word in any language.
Dale Carnegie's book's on dealing with worry are also extremely useful.
One thing to keep in minds is if you run your lights or freezer or AC off a non-grid connected system, your power bill is still lowered.
Really smart people are exceptionally good at rationalization.
And highly effective at self-delusion.
Thank you!
Happy New Year!
You are ignoring the excess energy which they pay him 10% of the going rate for.
Presumably for now they can sell this for full retail.
In a few years, probably not so much.
First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win.

Watch out for the "reasonable salary" trick-- it can nuke your social security benefits.
Sure- you may not get them- but if you use the reasonable salary- you definitely won't get them. There's a proper balance.
