A hundred people give 40 bucks to patreon. (4000 bucks). There are 100 charges
Patreon allocates that $4000 to 200 creators (20 bucks total each).
There are 200 more charges.
That's 300 total charges.
Patreon is claiming it needs to make 4,000 charges.
It does not. It's an aggregator.
If youtube still shows the advertisements, then it still has all the overhead- the only step it is "saving" is sharing some profits with the video creators.
To ensure people and animals are not being harmed.
And that's a problem with allowing companies in a country with one set of work standards to use.. say... human slaves in another country where slavery is legal.
If we don't stop slavery, and deadly working conditions for products sold in our country, then slavery and those working conditions will return to our country.
Apple isn't trying. Paying a third party to perform random inspections would be trivial to implement.
If you automate 90% of a job, you don't need 9 of the employees. And no, in most cases businesses do not retrain or retain the employees for other uses.
The problem is how fast a.i. is projected to remove jobs. Potentially 38% of jobs in under 40 years. That's really fast and greatly exceeds job growth. And more than that as jobs are created, they'll be automated too.
And they left out 2 trillion dollars for a war in iraq over oil. And they left out 4,000 dead for a war over oil. And they left out ongoing military capability required to fight a war in that region plus the cost of stationing thousands of troops.
And they left out the nearly trillion dollar subsidy to coal by allowing it to dig up coal for below market rates on federal lands.
And so on.
The subsidies for fossil fuel are woven so deep they don't even look like subsidies any more (like special accounting laws only used by the fossil fuel industry that save them billions of dollars per year).
And the ongoing incalculable health care and productivity costs for everyone who grew up inhaling lead from gasoline.
Alternative enegy isn't pollution free. But the pollution tends to be concentrated geographically instead of spread all over everywhere.
The point is that alternative energy subsidies are a drop in the bucket compared to fossil fuel subsidies.
Now you are just repeating points I already addressed.
Good point. Yea, there are also offended chinese fans on youtube and in china. As I said, the offended fan base cut across multiple races, both genders, and all age groups. It also included people with poorly trimmed beards who you keep attacking.
Missing the mark by 800 million is not "within a hair".
The film was overall bad.
The point on fisher is they gave the character a "meh" death (seriously rolling Holdo into Leia and giving Holdo's death to Leia would have been better.) and then backtracked on it in a really dumb way. It would have been an exit for the character. Instead now she'll either vanish or die between films. It was a dumb editing choice on their part.
There is nothing Trollish about saying that V.P. Pence would be a theocratic authoritarian but at least I wouldn't be worried about a nuclear war every few days.
It's just a fact. Like "the sky is blue".
Trump, during his briefings showed he thinks of Nuclear weapons as merely 'big bombs' and said if we had them we should use them.
Pence, while governor oversaw laws that required women to pay $1000 to bury their miscarriages to back his religious beliefs. The backlash was so intense had had to back down on that one. Pence is a glorified talk show host who lacks the intellect to qualify for president *but* he's not callous about nuclear weapons, he's not struggling with dementia or sundowner's syndrome, and he doesn't constantly show narcissistic traits nor does he push other leaders out of the way to strut to the front and then stick his chin out like some kind of preening dog.
Some signature readers do a kind of "lameness" check on the signature.
Most places don't require a signature below a certain amount any more.
The only time I've faced credit card fraud was at a movie theater because they took my card and brought it back.
It was cloned and the credit card company caught it immediately based on the fact charges were being made in impossible combinations of time and geography.
Disney made those numbers by locking theaters into a deal for an extra 20% of the box office compared to the normal deals. WIthout that, it would have been even lower.
Industry insiders leaked to the press. Go look on youtube, there are plenty of videos with cites to all this info.
Angry neck beards? Have you even glanced at the angry youtube videos?
Let's see... from the videos... Disney deeply offended the following groups...
Young women in their 20s. Older women in the 30s. Young black, asian, hispanic, and white men in their 20s (sans mustache much less beard). Older black, asian, hispanic, and white men in their 30s and 40s.
And older white men and women in their 50s.
Oh.. and it looks like the entire nation of china where they just canceled 92% of the planned showings.
I can accept and respect that a bit less than half of the fans didn't hate the movie. And probably about a fourth of fans like it for various reasons. Enough to see it 2 or 3 times but that's about it. They'll go see IX too.
But disney isn't going to get the same sweet deal for the next film after theaters lost so much money on this one. Box office plunged and by the time the 4 week period ended and theaters started getting a share of the box office- 90% of the expected gross of the film had been collected.
Disney expected this to be in the 57% of sequels which make more money than the immediately prior film in the series. That means more than TFA. It was reasonable to expect it TLJ to exceed TFA. If the film hadn't been a horror show and an insult to the fan base, I would have easily dropped 60 bucks on it .
What can you say about a film that kills an entire galaxy of people and leaves less than a dozen characters alive- one of whom the actress in real life is now dead?
That's the production budget my friend. Reports in industry trade rags are that the total budget including marketing was 800 million dollars. So that's a net of 400 million. About a 33% return. I agree, 400 million profits seems great to you and me! But, it is nowhere near as profitable as it could have been.
And I don't know... even if I was a vampire lawyer, I'd be devastated when my projections were for taking in about 2.0 billion dollars and the film only brought in 1.2 billion dollars and merchandising sales had collapsed as a result of the move (down 47%). And the thought that the next film (IX) was probably going do a Justice League swan dive to much lower profits than it would have made due to damage to the brand and over half the fans angry and saying they wouldn't pay to see the next film or any other disney star wars content in the future.
And that's before the lost blue ray sales.
Thanks for engaging. As a well written character from another i.p. says, "I can do this all day."
seriously I don't care. Just wanted to get in a dig on the still declining scores for the Last Jedi and it's projected 800 million dollar shortfall. Just because they didn't listen to fans / users and tried to reboot and cram something down everyone's throat.
I stopped buying new PC's frequently about 8 years ago.
My current mode is to buy a cheap computer with a good processor and add the best reviewed $200 graphics card.
I store everything long term on removable drives.
With increased streaming options, I stored less locally for a while but that's turning around as the streaming market fragments into a million $10 channels so I'm storing more locally again.
We could do without sales tax and go with income and property taxes including the old fashion luxury item taxes.
Only a few states don't already have an income tax, automobile, and property tax system in place.
Place additional taxes on liquor that costs over $40 per liter, electrical usage over double the average household usage, on premium concert tickets and restaurant meals over $40 per person.
Tax investment income. Limit the amount of 'tax free' income anyone can have to 20% of the countries average income (so about $10,400 per year right now).
But drop sales tax. You are taxing too many people living in poverty. In some states they even tax unprepared food. That's literally taking food out of children's mouths.
Look, 10% of the country has over 95% of the countries wealth and about 80% of the entire countries income. At some point, everyone else is so poor that you have to go where the money is to collect taxes.
Or you'll end up like brazil where poor people kidnap 1,000 wealthy people per year, killing some of them.
When democracies collapse, countries like Monaco with tons of wealthy people who are not paying for national defense will become ripe fat plums to be plucked.
The upper managers have to make the tough decision because most middle managers in businesses without high turnover are unable to make the tough decision.
So the upper manager makes the decision and then either hires a person to implement it or tells a middle manager to do it.
The problem with that logic is this
Patreon says we want to make 4,000 charges.
A hundred people give 40 bucks to patreon. (4000 bucks).

If it means fewer advertisements before minor videos, great.
If they continue to have advertisements but refuse to pay the content creators, then this is just a massive greed move on their parts.
I really do look forward to Patreon and Youtube being replaced now.
Nope. High prices only go to pay higher executive salaries and to compensate investors and stockholders.
Companies no longer view that they have any moral skin in the game.
Use child labor? Fine if it is more profitable.
Use child labor under conditions that blind people and kill several children a year? Fine if it is more profitable.
It's horrific. And if we don't stop it there, it is going to return to here.
And that is why we have governments.
To ensure people and animals are not being harmed.
And that's a problem with allowing companies in a country with one set of work standards to use .. say... human slaves in another country where slavery is legal.
If we don't stop slavery, and deadly working conditions for products sold in our country, then slavery and those working conditions will return to our country.
Apple isn't trying. Paying a third party to perform random inspections would be trivial to implement.
This is not new.
It doesn't take 10 years to fix this.
It's clear apple isn't really trying to fix it.
Especially for trivial inexpensive things like safety glasses and ear plugs.
The workers need to be able to sue Apple for disability.
THEN Apple will fix the problem.
available from before the 2000's.
Seriously, I really don't listen to modern music ouside of blue october (which may be considered "classic" now too).
Some of this may be due to the draconian copyright rules around music. I forget if it is 12 or 7 notes now but it's crazy restrictive.
I would look for public domain songs to base the melodies on so you don't get sued.
Plus, after a period of musical instrument experimentation the range of instruments has become fairly standardized.
High automation will be another issue.

Another land mark of not A.I. achieved. Soon every task a human can do that can be done by a machine will also not be A.I.!
Now you are just repeating points I already addressed.

Candidates with the most votes win.
And term limits given the reality of the power of incumbency.
Other than takeoff, it has been ready for a long time.

Planes are actually a simpler use case than automobiles.

If you are genuinely concerned, buy a faraday cage phone case. (But people wont' be able to reach you while it's closed.
