No but my new XP box reboots and auto installs things all the time. It is very irritating- I keep my important stuff on other boxes and backed up to DVD.
Oh no... I love vaginas-- I was posting from work and didn't want to get caught on some filter.
I left google because they have turned evil.
There is nothing evil about porn. There is a lot evil about joining with dictatorships to suppress their own people in order to make a few dollars. We prosecuted people for doing that just last century.
You are probably much less corrupted than I am you young pup.
Ummm.. If my machine became unbootable just as I was trying to prepare my income tax, i would not consider it a minor problem. most restore disks wipe your boot hard drive.
I'm thinking more that you can print single yellow dots and false serial codes. I assume the serial codes are repeated many times over the page but are in fixed locations.
If they are only there once, you could remove them.
If they are there once or multiple times, you can over print select dots and mess up the validity of the codes.
They promised those perks to them so they would not have to pay them a fair wage 20 years ago.
The executive salary of the top five executives at most of these failing car companies would pay for fair wages for most of the employees. (You could even still leave $500 grand a year for each executive).
Well.. for what it is worth.. Jay Leno was forbidden from writing his own jokes. I'm not sure how that one turned out but apparently he writes some stuff.
I think they start off with some material, but our need for material is higher than one person's ability to produce it.
Not really... If it works for 90% of your users with no additional cost, then you have to compare the cost to the profit for that other 10%.
If you will lose money, then you defer until it matters. Why should, I, a business person lose money supporting you? If you owned stock in my company, would you want to lose money this way?
Often, doing nothing is the most profitable option. Many of these programs may no longer have companies that exist to support them any more. Now that it matters, those which do will either fall to a competing problem that works or they will upgrade to address the admin problem.
Keep in mind a lot of the rich culture was created by artists supported by money from the noble class.
Artists need money-- that's fair.
They should not be paid 28 years for one bloody song- unless I'm going to be paid 28 years for one bloody program, tax return, or whatever takes me 4 weeks of work to produce. The compensation for artists is ridiculous. I think they produce LESS now as a result.
They should not be paid 50 years (long after they are DEAD). I'm sorry- DEAD PEOPLE do not make more artwork regardless of how much you pay them.
The real way this story will end is that there are 10x as many entertainment options every year.
The real reason hollywood and the music industry are suffering is that their business model is unsupportable. They are used to an environment where their product provided 30-50% of the possible entertainment to consume. During the last year, i watched more U-Tube, Fan Films, and Video games than hollywood and music industry output combined.
And my music listening was pretty exclusively in the car from the radio.
I was amazed at the boldness of that movie in these times and wondered at the time if it might be the start of the people pushing back against the wave of corporate fascism sweeping the globe.
Cultural enforcement doesn't take place on the torrent movie/tv show networks.
On Demonoid (RIP), I saw a lot of polish stuff- never downloaded it since I do not speak polish but it was there.
But, for folks downloading, LOST, Battlestar Galactica, and other first run shows- they see them in english. And it doesn't matter if some low budget local culture show is the only thing on TV while they watch their downloaded shows.
The sad thing is that american shows present a REALLY FALSE image of america.
"Middle Class" and "Ugly" on american tv means you "only live in a $580k house" and "you have braces and glasses".
The reality is a lot of americans are much less attractive than even "ugly" television characters and most live in $80k to $200k houses-- $580k is reserved for fools, lawyers, and doctors and such.
but showing that kind of reality messes with EVERYONE'S mind so they are not happy with perfectly wonderful middle class existences and so they get into drugs or get so obsessed with "hitting it rich" that they end up in poverty.
A fix for the west bug has been found. It is posted somewhere on "therunes.net" boards. I linked it to my guild boards a couple months ago.

Furthermore, in the long time, destroying the social fabric has a cost to the executives. Some american cities went way downhill and any executives based their would lose employment and have to uproot their families.
It's difficult to balance the creative destruction against society. There is clear evidence (higher growth rate) that there are real world benefits for society to being hard nosed. Unfortunately things in the US have gotten out of hand lately (a single person is just not worth over a million bucks a year).
Well you probably know what I meant and were making a funny but in case you didn't.
In EQ, on a raid, you get 54 people close to you (so they can't be clipped based on distance), and 40-70 server side creatures (player pets, monsters, the big "bad") and your machine is trying to keep up and report on and render all that in real time. My frame rate is >60 (>100?) in some content but in the new content on a raid, it can go to 10 to 20 fps unless I turn off a lot of features. Kinda sucks.
I have what was a "hot" card only eighteen months ago (7800) ago and now it is stuttering on some of the newer content when I'm raiding. The rest of the game is glass smooth. Suppose it could be the PC but it is a pretty good PC too.
Would love a site that showed "here is the game on the highest settings on these CPU/GFX combos".

You have good point and one I've considered.
The problem is this. Ron Paul would simplify and reduce federal regulations and laws that benefit corporations now (corporate welfare, holding wars as ways of feeding corporations money, having healthcare as ways of feeding healthcare companies money). So he would shrink the amount of federal dollars bloating up some of these corporations.
However, I really do not think the states have the power to deal with large corporations (some of which may be larger than some states).
But then, you consider that Obama, McCain, and Clinton are all basically bought and OWNED out right by the corporations (as well as 60-70% of our congress) and he looks like a much better option.
Let's say he cuts off the federal flow of money to corporations and the reduced federal regulations turns out to be a horrible idea. Well then in four years, a STRONG - ANTI CORPORATE election would take place. We would be tossed into a frying pan instead of slowly dying in hotter and hotter water and the rest of the country might see how dangerous the corporations have become to the american way of life.
The bias against Paul was pretty blatant from the beginning. The "conservative" local talk show targeted him for a hatchet job interview (putting words in his mouth, not letting him answer, being very disrespectful from the first answer he tried to give, asking manipulative questions).
Likewise, fox canceling paul from the debate AFTER he got more than other candidates who were included made it shockingly obvious that the corporate structure in america was shameless about it's desire to suppress Paul.
So yea... the american public- awash in anti-paul corporate backed propaganda did not choose to vote for Paul. Essentially he was running against the entire media and the republican party and the entrenched wealthy. He did amazingly well given all that. Most people who were not left wing that I knew that actually put aside the propaganda and read the man's positions found they did not disagree with him after all. Several converted and some even put up yard signs. I'll still be voting for him when I finally get the chance to exercise my right to vote.
Of course the left-wing types have a legitimate beef with him. They want a socialist government (nothing wrong with that in particular) that pays for a lot of social services (there's my problem- they pay for it with "magic money" and as a result build unsustainable social programs). By definition, a social welfare service can't help everyone-- if it does, all you are doing is cutting the amount of money for that social service to pay for the overhead of running it since you are taking money from everyone to pay for a program that benefits everyone.

Your post just shows how well the propoganda swinging this country into a corporate fascism dominated by what is essentially nobility while the rest of us are forced to work as wages slaves.
Ron Paul is not a wackjob- he is a man of principles- some of which would be very good for the long term health of our country.
We are currently riding down to national collapse and at this point, everyone has given up trying to save the country and is just looting it as best as they can for their personal benefit.

Sears made it right and people took advantage of them so much it was called the "sears rental policy".
Canada is no more sovereign than the US is.
With the WTO and other international treaties, no major country can afford financially to piss on the rest of the world any more.

Even when you had not been convicted of anything except not giving up your keys.
