Not exactly. Just the government can't be sued. but contractors that supplied the government/can/ be.
Since reading through the thread, I became aware of the Panorama incident. However in the 80's (I think) this was repeated again, with colour footage, on the 6 o'clock news. Or I am insane. But I am certainly not old enough to remember it from 1957.
I remember the bbc 6 o'clock news one year (April 1st) where they reported on the bad harvest of the italian spaghetti crop, with video footage of women picking spaghetti from bushes.
Er.. so a google search, but without using google's massive database of sites. Just searching your own history? Er.. then it isn't really much of a google search is it.
*ring-ring ring-ring* Bush: Hi.. is Mr Blair there? Blair: Yes.. speaking, how can I help you? Bush: I'm taking us to war.. against this place called Europe, are you in? Blair: Uhmm.. *worried* no.. I don't think I can help.. Bush: Pleeeease.. I need someone to show me where it is.. I was never good at this jog-raphy thing. Blair: Oh.. yes.. ok.. I'll join in.. I can show you what bits you need to bomb.. *aside to secretary* Get me maps of France!

Errr.. I am.. lots of news jobs for Linux-savvy people like me, with MSc's in computer science but a lame job.
Yeah, i stopped using msn messenger, er.. windows messenger, or whatever it is.. the name changed so many times I just couldn't handle it.. ok.. it was always obvious to me what it was, and ok the icon didn't change too much.. but the name.. the name changed.. my life was ruined.. I broke down at work and needed a months holiday.. my wife divorced me, the dog died.. and the world as I know it came to an end.. all this from the name change.. but finally i just stopped using it, and went to investigate more promising and viable entries in the IM sweepstakes.
I suppose this really depends on what you're defining a random number as being. If I defined a random number as being any number my 2 year old nephew came up with, then yeah, random numbers exist. Though they probably range from 1 to 2, and are pretty useless.

I thought the new restriction required sme sort of advert of XF86 being used.. not advertising the name of everyone to have worked on it (though I could be wrong). If I am right, then Joe Bloggs can't point to anything new to show he worked on it. However he can, and could point at his copyright notices in the source code. No change is surely needed for that?

The reason the two are incompatible is the fault of the XF86 people, as they are the ones making the recent change that caused the incompatability. If all was fine, then GPL suddenly changed and expected others to change to accomodate it, then any incompatability would be the fault of the GPL.
Yes.. canniballism is illegal in the UK.. but there have been cases of it, even shown on tv (documentary) without criminal proceedings being brought forward.
Stop reading if squeamish.
After a woman gives birth, and passes the placenta, in some cultures it is considered reasonable to eat the placenta.. as it is full of nutrients. But technically UK law regards the placenta as part of the human body, and the eating of it is cannibalism. A few years ago I saw a tv documentary in which a woman had her placenta made into pate, and had friends around to eat it (not all the friends could bring themselves to do it).. the programme even specifically mentioned that it was illegal.. to my knowledge no one was arrested.
So if this aspect of cannibalism can be shown on tv, I am sure it can be depicted on websites, and discussed, without it really destroying society as we know it. just goes to show that nothing is black or white, and that extreme measures to tackle the internet are usually knee-jerk reactions.. stupid ones at that.
I remember back at school when I studied economics, the textbook claimed the definition to be: The study of human behaviour. I suppose that people being in love, that it affects their behaviour.. means that it falls into the definition of economics.. that and the extend to which valentines day is now just a market driven spend spend spend event.
I thought this was a bit of a nasty post when I first read it. But then upon re-reading I note you didn't add that he should pull the trigger.. so not as nasty as it could have been, I'm a little relieved.

p.s. Yes, this was an april fools.. not real
Surely you just need a client-side search engine, that does a more sophisticated search on your history, including content of those pages?

before and during.. only during the conflict they did it secretly.. but a recent documentary (on aniversary) mentioned it
Friend? France? Friend?
Didn't they sell weapons to Argentina during the Falklands conflict?
Hmm.. yes they did.
With friends like these, who needs enemies.

They'll just call it Lindows, and roll their eyes over how stupid Microsoft is. That's the point of the new name.
