"Glucose is itself an effective counteragent to cyanide, reacting with it to form less toxic compounds that can be eliminated by the body. One theory on the apparent immunity of Grigory Rasputin to cyanide was that his killers put the poison in sweet pastries and madeira wine, both of which are rich in sugar; thus, Rasputin would have been administered the poison together with massive quantities of antidote. One study found a reduction in cyanide toxicity in mice when the cyanide was first mixed with glucose."
I think your Jonestown brothers are wondering where you are and how you managed to get the better stuff they never got to try.
Where the fuck do you think all of that fuel we burn comes from? The sun is *THE* driving factor, as it is with every other thing on this planet. Plants can't grow and die and break down to become greenhouse-gas releasing fuel without the sun from the get-go. The sun + axial tilt is responsible for driving our weather patterns, which is the biggest form of climate change we have.
Whoever wrote this is one ignorant and short-sighted person. How does this drivel make it past the editors? Perhaps we need editors with brains.
Oh, look, more ignorance attributing something to something I never implied, alluded to, or hinted at.
Trust me, if I thought I was better than you, I'd have told you right to your face.
"Don't take everything you read here too seriously."
When you're telling outright falsehoods, you'd better be prepared to get taken to task for it. I notice you still can't come up with any counter-argument that has any rational factual basis, which is why you're trying to play the 'save face by making insults' game.
"Oh thank God I finally have a solution! All that sunlight that I was using up for my plants! I've heard rumors that due to my wasteful sunlight farming parts of Alaska actually have little or no sun for 6 months out of the year!!!11one1"
Now your sarcasm makes you look like a typical asshole with a lacking education.
"We're saved. All thanks to some dude posting on slashdot..."
Or you're screwed. I decide to hand this tech over to China, America's Ag. economy dies as it can no longer compete.
I'm not better than you, just smarter, more intelligent, and more driven.
" I tried installing it on a fairly recently purchased desktop and the lack of SATA drivers and other installation issues ended up messing up my recovery partition."
Anyone with a brain knows XP doesn't have native SATA support (let alone native SSD support) and you need drivers installed first (or in the case of an SSD, you need EHCI/XHCI up and running first, then the textmode SATA/RAID driver.)
"a tragedy that contributed to his suicide just short of the age of 42 when he died of cyanide poisoning, possibly from a half-eaten apple found by his side"
That myth has been disproven hundreds of times. The tons of sugar in an apple beats out the miniscule amount of cyanide present in the seeds. Sugar is the natural antidote to cyanide poisoning. I eat the entire apple, core and all. 30 years, not one bit of cyanide poisoning.
Your joke was pretty poor, and your arguments equally weak. Soil based farming is wasteful. It's proven. It is resource-intensive and uses more than what is truly needed. You're wasting your own resources and wallowing in your ignorance.
Your 'it's called a greenhouse' quip is out of line, too. We make things grow without light - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ZTikdxj8AI and that tech has recently been expanded into growing lettuces herbs, and more (and not typical lightless crops.)
Your method of cultivation is likely wasteful, polluting, and irresponsible.
I can do it at 10% of the price you do, using 1/8 the land area, consuming between 60-90% less water, and a ~50% reduction in required fertilizers. Because it's in a much smaller area, the requirement of machines for harvesting is gone. My production buildings can be entirely solar-powered, as well.
Morocco, Australia, China, UK, Japan, USA, Brazil, all utilize my technology.
Your seed stock, if not from Monsanto, or produced yourself, likely came from a building utilizing my technologies.
"I'm sorry, but tell me an easy way for a non-technical business (e.g. a dentist's office) to shut off Internet access in most consumer-grade VMs (VMWare Player, Hyper-V, Win7's VirtualPC, etc.) while keeping network access alive"
Disable the gateway address on the router or in your TCP/IP settings, and everything remains inside the local network.
You seriously don't belong here, go away with your ignorance.
You and the idiots modding you have no fucking clue what a liberal is. You very likely don't even understand that all of our political parties are essentially far or further-right wing.
"Just make California secede from the rest of the US. Problem solved. "
Hah, California leaves the USA your entire economy fucking collapses.
It seems that you idiots forget that us Californians have an economy ranked between 8-10th IN THE WORLD (poised on 8th right now.) Our state alone, which happens to be the 12th largest global economy, would leave you all in another full-blown depression.
No wonder the rest of the USA would be fucked, with idiots like you populating it.
" Al or CU has nothing to do with why a 50 amp connection would have issues,"
Electrical conductivity has plenty to do with it.
I don't trust AL wire because aluminum forms a highly resistive oxidative layer, which is why AL wire MUST be thicker to safely handle the same amperage of a thinner copper wire.
Your failure of logic is astounding. No wonder you won't identify yourself while making such stupid and thoughtless remarks - you know I'll embarrass you if you're someone I know.
"Why would you call that "a driver that will power all ten LEDs"?"
The voltage and current are of the proper levels to power all of the LEDs, any experienced person would think that because that is what implied. All LEDs test 100% working on individual. But only two or three light up (depends on blue or red. Red tends to light three, blue only two.)
" "In-line" would seem to be implying "in-series" "
Along the same power rail. Either in series or parallel it doesn't matter.
"CCD or the LED would "draw" from the power source"
~6V for CCD, roughly 3.3V for CMOS sensor, and between 2.4-4V depending on LED color. All of those built-in webcams are USB, which provides 5V, and of CMOS design almost 100% of the time. That means you're not powering sensor + LED in series from USB, as the lowest combination possible still exceeds the maximum voltage of the power supply. Trying to run two different voltage devices off the same power line in parallel is not smart. You're going to burn one or the other, or one or the other will underperform, or just not perform at all.
YOU MUST RUN SEPARATE POWER LINES AND CONTROL WITH FIRMWARE.
I would seriously consider going back to whomever taught you your EE and demand a refund. Basic math alone is all that's necessary for this exercise, not even a full understanding of electricity.
"Honestly, Khyber, I expected a little more humility out of you after you were apparently completely mindfucked by the simple concept of putting an LED + current-limiting resistor in parallel with the camera sensor's voltage supply"
By whom? Nobody has yet to refute and I've kept posting video evidence to the contrary to your own claim being made now. Try again, moron.
Right from the Wiki on Cyanide Poisoning:
"Glucose is itself an effective counteragent to cyanide, reacting with it to form less toxic compounds that can be eliminated by the body. "Are you sure? You've never suffered from confusion, chest tightness, headache, shortness of breath, or nausea?"
Only when I smoke a good joint and cough too much.
Also, cyanide plus sugar = instant other compounds that are not very toxic at all.
Chewing seeds along with apple flesh negates the entire thing.
Glucose binds to cyanide, as does sugar, to form other compounds that are far less toxic, and even harmless.
He would have needed more cyanide than there was Apple to off himself via injecting the Apple with cyanide and then ingesting it.
"Your vague allusions about being better than me"
Oh, look, more ignorance attributing something to something I never implied, alluded to, or hinted at.

Camfrog has been around over a decade and is still going strong.
Full support.

"The term "right wing" is essentially meaningless (in that it has so many conflicting meanings, nothing useful can be inferrered)."
Wrong, and that's obviously the view of someone that has never left the United States and lived abroad around the world.
The entirety of the USA is right-wing. You're just too ignorant to understand it.
You're also too ignorant to know how to spell 'Inferred.'
Your method of cultivation is likely wasteful, polluting, and irresponsible.

Been on the BBC for the same tech.

Are you fucking stupid? In Windows 7, right click your program 'Run As Administrator' is right fucking there. and works without any issues.
Of those reasons, I'm betting #1 is 'No driver support for half the hardware in the system.'
I have tons of equipment that's better than crap being produced today, but drivers for it don't exist past XP.
Trying to insult tends to fall flat when I'm one of the people responsible for your low food prices.
It's your mother living in my basement, child. She services my husband and myself.
You and the idiots modding you have no fucking clue what a liberal is. You very likely don't even understand that all of our political parties are essentially far or further-right wing.
So glad I belong to none of them.

"You need more training."
Speak for yourself, failure at cryptoanalysis.
That's how I break into encrypted crap all the time. SSDs make it much easier to find hidden data.

It's still allowed in certain agricultural uses in the USA, but not for houses.

Product design experience for over half a decade, prototype development for over a decade and a half.
"So getting a 60A wire and running 20A over it would be safer than getting an appropriately sized wire."
Yea, you go ahead and find me wall outlets that accept 4 gauge wiring. I'll be here, don't worry, I have time.
