  1. Not hard, forecasts on Canadian Millennials Struggle As College Degrees Don't Guarantee Jobs (www.cbc.ca) · · Score: 1

Too many people are going to college. Mean time mechanics, plumbers, even house framers are tough to come by and make big bucks. When I went to college I grabbed a job forecast book in the library. Library, you know, that place that has books, Yea, I know I'm old. Anyhow, you can look up what you want to be and see if there is even a demand for it. I found out there was no demand for what I wanted to go into, nor for the next 20 years. We have married men with 30+ years of experience out of work, so I switched.

Thing is so many kids are so stupid today. They don't even look, don't care, they just feel as if someone else will take care of them. Don't worry about that big old debt... Yet some of these same people will research endlessly for their next car or computer. They need to take charge of their lives. Stop being a snowflake.

  2. Stop raising the min wage on Backlash Builds Against Bill Gates' Call For A Robot Tax (cbsnews.com) · · Score: 1

All raising the min wage is doing is putting high school students and a lot of minorities out of work. That's what the numbers say and it's definitive. It also raises the prices all around. It's really stealing from all of us because a dollar doesn't go as far as it used to. Just look at what a car cost in 1950 and what it cost in 1980, 2000. You'll see the terrible cost of inflation brought on by the Carter administration. Along with that was a lot of min wage increases. The fewer entry level positions out there.

Just think if you were to open a business and you want a few people to work for you. That'll be $15/hour, plus bennies and taxes, or around $30/hour/pop. This is for minimum wage so for that $30/hour you wind up with some high school person that is likely not reliable at all. See where I'm going? $100K doesn't go very far at all.

Successful lawyer. I mean this guy is kicking his career into high gear. By the time he's 20 he has a mansion, Rolls, property in the Maldives. Everything is going great, he's now 25 and in tip top shape thanks to his workout trainers. He dies of a heart attack just before he's supposed to get married. Now he's talking to St. Peter. He says - NO Fucking way man! I'm in tip top shape and very young. Why the hell did I die right before getting married!

St. Peter looks confused. He looks though his books... Says there must be a big mistake! For lawyers we go by your billing time. According to your billing, you must be at least 105. So how can you be just 25?

Same thing here. I don't understand how they could award anything like this. I bet all of us have endured far worse and we get - *ZERO* Suck it up and shut up.

A guy was a RWN because he didn't want his Trump sign stolen. Yea, that's a Nazi alright...

We let the left redefine stuff. How about Marriage. That's been defined for thousands of years, around the world, by I think every religion out there. Yet we're allowing this very very small percentage of people to tell us to redefine it? I don't know why we're doing that. They can have the same benefits and all, just don't call it marriage.

Sometimes I think they'll look back at this time and blame it all on the rise of pot smoking.

NetFlix, Trivago, Nintendo Switch, Cisco, NetEnforcer.... and many others....

Kind of proves my point, don't you think? If you want to do simple things, don't care about security - sure, use BSD. Like I said, like it's 1999. That's all they need, 1999 technology.

If you want a real OS that can do something you'd want a laptop to be able to do today, you wouldn't even consider BSD. If you are into this stuff this is like a captain obvious moment. BSD just has so little to offer anymore to warrant even booting it up.

With cloud and such this situation will only get worse for BSD. I used to love it. Used to even contribute to the freebsd stuff back in the 1980s and into the 1990s. Before that, I had to pay for Unix, Interactive Unix to be exact. From Kodak believe it or not. I'm open to using it again if they'd just bring it up to date. At this point it is so far behind I think the developers are far better off working with Linux and just let bsd go. Matter of fact, and this is really a big deal for me - I'd prefer using Windows to BSD on the desktop. I thought I'd NEVER say that... however there it is. For network stuff, BSD beats the living crap out of Windows, as does Linux. Only a moron (or the boss that's a moron) uses Windows for network stuff.

However I don't want to be an ass. If you love BSD, think it's great - keep on using it. It's a good OS.

I'll admit that their old stuff stunk to high heaven as I had one of their older cards and it was a real pain in the ass to boot to a new kernel.

I wanted to use an ATI when I built my new machine, however I just couldn't either get one or justify paying the price. I knew I'd always regret not getting the nvidia. I wish I sprung for a Tesla version.
