"The Register and Cnet have this report about Kai-Fu Lee not cleaning his recycle bin at his previous workplace and now MS has stumbled upon some interesting document, which shows that Google anticipated the MS move, and had planned top put him on a leave of absence or have him as a consultant to thwart any attempt of MS getting him back."
Now I know I've tossed out my share of Microsoft 'merchanise', but I never, not once, considered that they could actually be IN my trash bucket.
One could say that this is a new 'low' for Microsoft.
I spoke in English, and this was translated to German. Then the German was translated back to English, and then translated again into the Slashdot story.
So what you're trying to say here is that the problem was with going from English to German, or German back to English?
Yeah, you should, instead, bring the cops with you. Google certainly has the cash to file for this patent, and probably hundreds of others, why can't they help us lobby for patent reform and put an end to this 'gun fight' ????
But you only need to read Alien for this one: Oreo 51 writes "It was only a matter of time before someone did this. Barry Snyder used Google Maps to take shots of the infamous high-security Area 51 in the Nevada desert. I can't wait to see what/.ers think of all the craters and interesting sand geometry there."
Part of the Open Source process is that the users have the ability to participate. Don't expect your problem to automagickly fix itself. There's code available, and a long process known as DEBUGING that you could be experimenting with right now.
Firefox 1.x branch has only crashed on me once since I downloaded 1.0.0, however many months ago that was. Your issue doesn't translate onto me, hence it sounds like an isolated problem.
Another plus for Firefox is that since you are so unhappy with it, you have the option to uninstall it... unlike a particular browser bundled with the OS.
BitTorrent is no different than HTTP or FTP. It's Just a Protocol.
You can't "steal" movies or music (or anything, for that matter) with BitTorrent, either, since that implies that downloading is theft. Theft leaves the original owner lacking in the item you 'stole'.
Either way, this is an interesting move from Opera. Now it's only a matter of time before Microsoft will announce that they are embedding BitTorrent into Longhorn. Like all those other goodies they are planning;)

FTGB: "And since feed reading can be addictive, don't forget to feed yourself after feeding your reader."
Well then, it seems having a refrigerator next to me will finally start paying off!
Is this actually one of the few moments in Slashdot news when "Nothing to see here, please move along" is literally true?
You mean Managed, right?

Since the /. editor didn't feel like giving you a direct link to iSkoot, here's one right now:

Internet: "I'm not fat, I'm just sufficiently back-boned."
This is basically a candied way of saying "there's only a few ways they can do it, so don't worry about it."
Wrong. Compromise is as easy as one... that's right, one point of failure.
It's still a vulnerability.

Mathematics (physics):
K = mc^2 ( [1 / sqrt(1 - v^2/c^2)] - 1 )
Programming:
assume 'i' is a c-array
assume 'a' is a positive integer
i[a] == *(i+ a) == *(a + i) == a[i]
Eloquence.
Why do you thing it's called a language?
Uhm... where?
That's certainly never stopped governments in the past...
Although this may not be the most appropriate way to handle taxpayers' money, it's not the most inappropriate, not even close.

Before the theatrical release?
A few days...
Can I get the address of that ftp?
Sounds uber.
