Computer scientists know what they need to do and how to do it, so long as they can express it in the language they're using. Experienced software developers often know incredible amounts of detail about programming languages, but not necessarily about advanced algorithms and data structures. So does that make Computer Scientists better? Or software developers? Which is more important, knowing advanced algorithms and data structures, or knowing the intricate details of a programming language so you can optimize that much more.

  8. Better Idea on Restrictions On Social Sites Proposed In Georgia · · Score: 1

How about a system where the parents can have an account that is tied to their child's. So they can be notified about everything the child does on the site.

Some important things to note are that this is opt-in, so the kids could always work around it. It would be the parents job to police they're kids. If the kids have rich social networks, it would be hard to hide from the parents if the parents know who their child is friends with.

This isn't an ideal situation, but it is a heck of a lot better than mandatory registration as kids.
