Put quiet fans in. Noctua are the probably the best large fans - for use as CPU, PSU and case fans mostly, my Noctua fans have been going for many years now. I had a heatsink so big on my previous 95W quad core that it didn't even need a fan!
Video cards can also be adapted to take quiet fans but that's not always easy. Either replace the PSU fan or the PSU.
CPU and GPU fans thresholds can usually be altered to make them quieter when idling. (sometimes via the BIOS menu).
Who said anything about $1m per year. You buy a medallion, you drive the taxi for x years, you sell the medallion (Or you lease / work for someone with a medallion etc).
"so I might pay a slightly higher attention to keeping my arse alive than you do."
How in hells name does obsessing about a lost plane equate to this?
Nothing you said negates what I said or relates to the fact that people are obsessing about a lost plane that is extremely unlikely to be found and the only part of the plane likely to be of use is the flight-recorder and not random bits of flotsam.
Google has around 90% market share for search in Europe.
This is a near monopoly and the biggest reason they have this monopoly is because their search simply works better, I've often tried other search engines and they're just not as good.
complaints that it favors is own services in search results
This is like complaining Mcdonalds favors it's own burgers. It's their search, why shouldn't they point to their own services. Would anyone expect a search on IBM's site to offer HP services?
I disagree, it is purely electioneering. These are the Tories they don't intend to pay for students, by the time they've put the scheme together it'll stink and either no student will want to go for it or no employer will want to go for it.
I am sick of people abusing the mod system as you describe, mod people down if they are flamebait etc but not because you simply disagree 'coward'.
MH370 again, this isn't just obsession, it's extreme obsession, this level of obsession is bizarre, why are officials feeding it? The plane is gone, it's past time to get over it - I don't mean the relatives, I mean the officials and media who are feeding this thing.
The UK is planning a large tidal lagoon, backed by Prudential Insurance, they don't seem to be in the slightest bit worried about salty water either. UK Renewables May Be Turning The Tide
And of course there's a global shipping industry. Coal doesn't go by airplane.
So, I'm going to search for something in Wikipedia (or any other installed search engine) and Yahoo does the autocomplete for it - that's a privacy invasion.
Mozilla don't seem to want to fix all of the bugs in Firefox, they'd rather mess about changing the interface constantly. Firefox now freeze-crashes regularly or gets stuck in a loop for 10 seconds, it's Netscape 4.7x all over again.
Time for a re-write?
Firefox have a revenue of hundreds of millions and a falling market share, they should advertise, their competitors do.
I'd advise against putting mayonnaise in your bed, it'll ruin your mattress.
How are we supposed to read these tweets if we are driving along with a beer in one hand?
Are you trying to imply that a contention ratio of 2,592,000:1 is not fair?
Why didn't you google it you lazy ****

Get JCBs, long life, high power and don't cost an absurd amount.
Without bus drivers there could be more smaller buses with shorter stops, better able to match demand.
Doesn't quite match reality does it, just about every city in the world has buses and they cope fine.
The HDD and power LEDs don't need to be plugged into the motherboard, unplug them, they're annoying.

You may well want to know but it is not feasible, the plane is lost and these articles do not tell you what happened to the plane anyway.
It's not his, he's renting it. But of course you'd know that if you'd read this story when it was posted on Tuesday.
+1, great video.

They are over-charging scumbags with dodgy drivers, why would you want to use them? Don't support them until they sort their act out.
Nyyaaaaaaahhhhhhh that is the creepiest thing I have ever seen, I hate spiders. My skin is still crawling.
Flash memory gets less reliable as the density increases so it doesn't look like we'll be seeing 100TB flash drives with SLC/MLC technology.

How do you get the pound sign to work? Qhen I type it it looks like this £20.
