And Rohan will answer! Muster the Rohirrim! Assemble the Men at Dunharrow, as many Men as can be found. You have two days. On the third, we ride for Gondor... and war.

Also don't forget that when The Lord of the Rings was pitched, no one predicted the public's apetite for fantasy. from the wiki:

The trilogy began pre-production as a two-film deal similar to a few other projects. Then Miramax, citing budget concerns, decided to condense the project into one film, before selling it off altogether to New Line Cinema in 1998. Robert Shaye, head of New Line Cinema, immediately decided to expand the project to three films (with a budget of $270 million), famously replying to Jackson's offer, "Aren't there three books?"

So smarting about how it wasn't six films in hindsight when it was only made to 3 films because of a daring and risky maneuver might be a tad misplaced.

What capabilities does the Wii command that are unachievable on the GameCube today? I think nintendo is just releasing the obligatory new platform as a method to increase saturation of it's 'wiimote' controller. They should have just bundled the controller with whatever handful of games they plan to have it work with and called it a day. Consider:

Wii is hardly more powerful than gamecube. GC 1.5 indeed. Partial Wii Specs vs. GC Specs>

They are releasing AAA GC titles simultaneously with Wii anyway.

Wii has 4 GC controller ports and will accept GC discs as well as Wii ones.

What we really have here, just like GBA SP and DS Lite, is the GC Wii, with a pack-in wand controller and ethernet port.

Honestly what on earth is with this 'blogging' craze? I refuse to even acknowledge 'blog' as a legitimate term. Web log perhaps, and I'm barely into my twenties! These web loggers seem to think they have stumbled onto some hertoforth undiscovered treasure -- compensated authorship! Wow, it turns out that a very small percentage of 'bloggers' have the writing ability to generate income doing said activity. Color me serpryzed. Oooh. I just invented a word. Serpryzed. I'm going to go append this to my meta-blog about blogging with a headline stolen from an obscure band from my assumed hometown.
