7 foot, lightweight, non-tangle cord
Ok, what's a non-tangle cord?
I think i remember this from Lord of the Rings, old technology. Remember when Sam pulls on the rope and the knot just comes undone? I read about this kind of stuff years ago...
They do count as ID. However, it is not required to get a driver's licence. There are still people who do not drive (and others who drive, just never register).
"If a match-up begins and drops everyone due to lack a lack of players, Horde automatically wins."
From my WoW PvP experience, i was under the impression this already happened. :)
A lot of talk about what people are doing, and very little on what can be done to prevent this. One of the few solutions mentioned is that:
"Unfortunately, getting rid of cheaters completely will not be done until the server holds all of the game files."
Which seems unlikely for a very large game. Unless you want to reacquire the game everytime you play. The "state of cheating" in all aspects of life is visible, and unless a paradigm shift of society occurs, the same exploits or hacks will be made.
How about stricter punishment (perhaps permanent bans?) to those that cheat?
But I'll have to believe it when I see it. It was also said there would be colonies on the moon before I was even born...but that never happened.
I'd like to see it happen, I really would...but as far as I have seen no one can back this up.
Some game sequels are great, of course, but wouldn't it be nice to see if something new would come out? I have some of the original sonic games, then after playing the 3d one...i stopped. Wouldn't it be nice to play a new game instead of playing another variation of the same story?
I think there is no chance of me buying an Xbox 360. why? because from what i have played, there isn't enough material worth playing. I never bought an Xbox either, i played my friends because a couple of the games were cool. I don't know about everyone else, and i know one person will not affect the money made off of selling the games and consoles, but Xbox has never had enough to get my attention as much as Nintendo and Sony have.
"they knew full well as far back as 2002 that new orleans would be in big trouble due to flooding and hurricanes."
Actually, i'm sure most everyone knew that New Orleans was a disaster waiting to happen. For as long as i can remember, people have been talking about New Orleans getting hit by a hurricane. I'm certain people knew something catastrophic would happen if/when the area was hit (being under sea level as is).
And, now that this has happened, no one seemed to be prepared...and how long has New Orleans been around?
Community wise, i would say that a MUD definately takes the win here.
The main reason for this though is the amount of people. Your average large MMORPG can have hundreds of thousands of people playing total.
The MUD's i have seen have a few thousand. I'm sure have more, but not in that large a scale.
When you join one of these really large games, do you ever hear about the time long ago when people used to hang out with the creators in game? that was when there were so few people, they could walk around and be respected. This thing happens in MUD's still (from ones i've played, atleast) because the amount of people. Spam is less, player abuse is less, the people who help players react much faster just for this reason.
Choosing which you prefer is just a matter of opinion. Want to have a great community? Try a MUD. Want something more visual because your brain is fried? Try a visual MMORPG, not to say all that everyone who plays visual MMORPG's are terrible, but quite a few;)
As long as the high level people in many games shoot down the beginners, this problem will never go away.
Playing most Pencil and Paper D&D was with a close group of friends (or the same people whenever you play, usually) that atleast will respect each other when ever anything happens.
Problem with anything MMO is that no one knows who is on the other end. Want to play a really good MMORPG?
Your character meets some other local adventurers in the tavern, and you all decide to go to a mysterious cave nearby. As the group moves around the cave and something attacks you all, one of your team mates will take everything for himself or let the rest of the guys die. As long as you don't know these people, there is no way a perfect MMORPG will exist, but a complete split in the genre? I seriously doubt it.
And as long as your high level characters step on the low ones, you will not find any of those people who could have brought something fun to the game because they were too mad after someone made fun of them for just starting.
Remember all those people you learn about in school, the ones who tried "civil disobedience"? Well, the thing is, many people nowadays feel too proud to do anything, and because they feel that everything that our country is sticking under our noses is good for us, then of course we're going to put this way. That's why no matter what happens, if a piece of jurisdiction gets by that prevents freedom from being protected, then we don't sit around and let it happen. As long as you make your voice heard loud and clear, and don't do stupid stuff like PETA (getting off topic..) then you can make sure we don't end up getting pushed around. The Government serves us, not the other way around.
Well, of course it is going to teach kids wrong ideas, the not so bright ones who can't figure this stuff out. But...in San Andreas, you don't have to kill them to get money back if you finished all the pimping missions...geez, these senators just need to get their facts straight...
Correlation does not mean causation... 'nuff said.

Sometimes I think the Amish have it good. No Website is going to sue them...
