XUL, i think you're right here. But why firefox and not mozilla (I don't mean mozilla, the suite or browser, i mean the current XUL Runtime Engine, XRE)? I'm sure that this same donation would benefit any XUL application as much as a web page/app. I remember hearing that IBM was interesting in developing most of their client software with XUL, so I'm sure this would help. Anyone else notice that google and ibm are swallowing up all the XUL developers they can find? http://www.mozilla.org/keymaster/gatekeeper/there. is.only.xul

  10. Re:Don't let your wedding photographer bully you! on Your Digital Photos Are Too Professional · · Score: 1

I'm thinking that this could potentially back-fire on them, and perhaps all that is needed is one lawsuit to change the rules altogether (legally, this idea maybe flawed). What if for some reason a photographer loses the originals and you come back for prints, since you can't copy the ones you have. Wouldn't they be responsible for this and couldn't they be libel for the "damages"?

  14. XRE - XUL Runtime Engine/Environment? on IBM to Hire Firefox Developers · · Score: 3, Interesting

Might IBM be creating a XRE? We all know that eventually Firefox/Thunderbird/etc will run off a global (to the system) XRE, right?
or are they just going to be developing a suite of applications that use XUL?
