just use instant messaging.
just take jabber, and add the ability of the server to store messages till the user logs back in.
bam email replaced. now everyone should just use it.
sony did enuf marketing, if they put their weight behind it. it STILL would have failed. just like CD's are failing.
1 reason, they did not listen to their customers.
customers want ease of use, back and forth direct digital copying, mp3 or ogg support (none of this transcode to atrac bull). They dont want unfriendly DRM. They dont want sony's crappy/ugly/bloated software. Other companies offer players that do this, why can't sony?? i dont know why.
i wouldn't have hated my minidisc if i could just plug it in, open the drive and drop mp3's on it. but no i had to go through sony's horrible software that everyone hates, just to do what should be the simplest thing in the world. directly copy a file to my minidisk player.
this will only hurt regular people, who are using encryption for their own information.
all someone has to do to get around this is probably rename the encrypted file to something that looks like a windows component, or some other software component. and throw it in the directory with windows. or throw it in with some software product that no one knows much about. people would think it is a data file.
IMO this is a bad idea. i don't want this integrated into the browser, i think it would open alot of abuse problems. how would you like it if every link started opening 10-20 windows? thats excessive, and annoying. even if it was in firefox, where they are tabbed. i would rather click on a link, and get directed to that one link.
This is one of those cases where the original technology is perfectly fine the way it is.
Need multiple links for something? USE MULTIPLE LINKS THEN:) its that easy, and you don't confuse or annoy the person clicking them.
i switched to dvorak. AND i can not type qwerty AT ALL anymore.. If i try i have to look at the keyboard, or i will end up typing gibberish on it.
also, it took me about 3 months to get up to speed, my typing practice was the mmorpg dark age of camelot.
for the first two weeks i made a ton of errors, so much that my pinky was starting to hurt. finally i stopped making errors, and my speed went up. now i type just slightly faster than i did when i was typing qwerty. But the major benefit has been that it doesn't hurt much anymore... theres alot less streching your fingers around on the keyboard, and more useful letters come out more quickly. it has been worth it, because my fingers are not in pain anymore.
lets spend billions of dollars to put a ring around the earth. tons of fuel would have to be burned to do this. they could just throw some glitter into orbit.
heres a better idea. have everyone on the planet plant at least one tree. trees would help cool the earth. because they hold more water. trees also help water evaporate so there will be more rain. more rain = cooler weather.
hopefully, someone doesn't go online and pretend to be one or more of those players.

it's not about exploration, it's about money. Rich people don't want to pay for it.
you know, you can do this in open office. just select paste special, and choose unformatted text.
I'd love to buy cedega, but they only take like 2 forms of payment. they don't take discover card, and they don't take paypal.
Someone needs to kick blizzard in the buns and get them to port this to linux.

It is seriously cute.
