Although it may seem more convenient to out source your backups, its not always best. What if the company goes belly up, gets hacked, or drastically changes pricing? If you think you have the technical skills, you really oughta do it in house. A decent system to check out is bacula. From the website:
Bacula is a set of computer programs that permit you (or the system administrator) to manage backup, recovery, and verification of computer data across a network of computers of different kinds.
In technical terms, it is a network based backup program.
Its more likely that intel understands their processors inside and out and know how to fully optimize compiling for them. The reason it changes things for AMD is probably due to not knowing what would happen if they used the same optimized code. It doesnt really make sense for a company to spend time optimizing the compiler to work with other processors when they sell their own.
Although I don't have a book to recommend, I can offer this advice. Use Gentoo. It's model is pretty secure to start with. You only install what you need, not what the distro thinks you need.
Somehow, I dont think this will be good for browsers outside of IE. It seems when microsoft comes out with something, it becomes the defacto because of their user base, even if its not good.
Russia's federal space agency is really just a front for allofmp3.com. They need the money to buy more CDs. Check out the FAQ
Yeah, thats also a decent backup package.
Am I barking up the wrong tree?

I'm a big fan of OS X. It doesnt matter what CPU its running on to me. If they can port it to intel and make it faster, I say why not.

Not only is this a really good idea, it's another reason to switch to firefox. Hopefully someone will add this to mediawiki too!

So will students still have to pay anything then?
