Currently, a 7800GTX-512 made by BFG requires a minimum 400-watt power supply, with a 12v rail rating of 26 amps, to run stable.
One of these cards tends to run from 40-50 degrees Celsius at idle, and 60-75 under load.
What these people suggest to do...is put four of the damn things in one place? So, what are we talking about here? Triple power supplies? Ten 8,000rpm, 200mm fans? Because I really don't see any other way around it.
And, of course, the main goal of that guideline is to prevent high-school nobodies from writing pages about themselves.
There are a wide variety of pages about people who also have Wikipedia accounts. In fact, there's even a template, which goes something like, "This page is about a person who has a Wikipedia account under the username {{{1}}}...."
I think that once notability has been established, such as in the case of Wales, it's acceptable to contribute to an article about yourself. After all, nobody knows more about you than yourself.
Seems somewhat similar, perhaps, to nVidia 's current product. An nForce3 board I just bought (an MSI) supports something called "AGR" or "Advanced Graphics Riser." It's really just an AGP slot that only supports certain compatible AGP cards. However, its main graphics system is, of course, a PCI-e x16 lane.
It's really great for people making the transition from AGP to PCI-e. Of course, that's not an issue for me, because with this board I purchased an XFX 7800GTX.
Well, the Supreme Court isn't a congress. The United States Congress, however, is a congress. The United States Supreme Court is a court. Congress's only control over the court system is the confirmation of judges to various courts, and the ability to set up any courts lower than the Supreme Court.
Unless, of course, you left out your comma, and meant to say that Congress has the right to judicial review. In which case, you would be wrong. Article III of the United States Constitution strictly grants all judicial powers to the Supreme Court of the United States. And if you think that the power of Review has never been used, well, you need to brush up on your history.
Well, it's really a figure of speech...was rushing, had to get near the top, y'know? They need to not put profits ahead of safety...in this manner, at least. Everyone usually puts profit ahead of safety.
This is his big chance to do what, precisely? Agree to, and attempt to enforce, a bunch of far-fetched regulations that will cost the United States trillions of dollars anually? I'm sure the left would very much like him to do that, to give them a few more national debt problems to complain about.
Please tell me, exactly why should I compensate farmers in another nation because they have experienced failure that they knew, in their line of work, was possible? You really are quite the true "World Revolution" Communist, aren't you? Go back to Belarus.
They are concealing their potentially-infected poultry from those who are trying to control a potential pandemic. Obviously, there's something not in-tune with them.
It's also rather absurd of you to compare a relatively, mildly bothersome computer worm, to a virus pandemic with a death toll that could number in the millions. If I had reason to believe that my computer had that power, I'd microwave the motherboard myself.
I have a much better idea. How about, the farmers hand over the chickens...and people don't die from it? Sounds much better and easier to me.
Hey, thanks for forgetting that this doesn't become a pandemic until it starts moving from human to human, in your "I'm foreign, I'm better than you Americans" recitation.

In the RSS feed, all you get for the subject (or title) is "Makers." The link to the story is not http://books.slashdot..../ but instead, http://rss.slashdot.../
So, no. It's not our failing.
That's like ten students in Tehran calling for real, free elections.
The difference is that the BBC writer gets to live.
What the hell is wrong with a piece of pressed rice paper and lead shavings?
Chair-to-the-wall has won Number Two!

Excellent.
It'll be 2006. Midterm elections are next November.
And then, in 2008, we'll have another presidential campaign.
What the hell is it that you think is in 2007?

Don't feed his troll line.
Eh. I had a good run.
(Obligatory: AIDS itself doesn't kill)
I believe he means to imply that it was brought down by a bomb.
Because I'm too young (and probably too smart) to smoke cigarettes. So I burn a few tons of incense instead.

If I had four accounts, I'd mod this up with each one.
Smart people who are worth something. Apparently not you.

Except, it is the highest court in the land.
They're not supposed to follow the law in their decisions, they're supposed to decide whether or not the law is right.
Keynote.
Law of Conservation of Mass. Law of Conservation of Mass-Energy. I'm sorry, but I must demand that you turn in your geek card. Now.

Unrelated, where exactly are you going?

However, whereas lightning has been around since the very beginning of weather, avian flu has been an issue for a comparatively short time.
