  1. Does it really matter? on Judge: Schools Don't Have to Help Music Industry · · Score: 4, Insightful
They'll find another case like this they can bring to court again and again untill they find a judge that'll agree with them, and then THAT will set the precedent for all the next cases.

As long as the *AA's have the bank accounts and the lobbyists, these cases will just be a bump in their road.

    And that really really blows.

  2. Re:Good! on Asteroid 2004 MN4 May Hit Earth After All · · Score: 1

No, It'll sound more like- "Damnit, why'd we let you gourge on all those damn fish?!?!"

  3. Re:I wish I could believe him, but... on Telegraph Reviews Hitchhiker Movie, Approves · · Score: 1

I'm sorry, but anything that can eliminate a Frogstar Scout Robot Class D (No, I didn't say A or B or C, I said D) armed with nothing seems pretty important to me.

  4. The Real Question on Telegraph Reviews Hitchhiker Movie, Approves · · Score: 4, Funny
How many reviews must a man read before he knows the Ultimate Answer to whether this movie is good?

    42.

  5. Re:Which Law? on Comcast Sued For Giving Customer Info to RIAA · · Score: 1
    Exactly right.

The legislative system is backloged enough, if every case had to have a specifically worded law describing it then either A. Nobody would ever win a law suit (And we KNOW this isn't the truth) or B. The law books would be larger than the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, and that thing's huge.

  6. Re:I don't think so on Music Industry Drafts Code of Conduct for ISPs · · Score: 1
It'll sure be a scary world we live in if any group can just dump millions (Which they're already raking in from exploitation of customers/musicians) on any group they please to get their way.

Oh, wait- they've already done this with our GOVERNMENT, and this is the reason we even have to worry about this in the first place.

I guess it already is a pretty scary world.

  7. OK to remove tinhats... on Google Delivering Factual Answers · · Score: 1

'... is an Academy Award winning American actress, model, writer, producer, activist and philanthropist' and provides the link to the Wikipedia online encyclopedia's entry for the actress.' Conspirary theories as to the nefarious purpose of Google's aid to Wikipedia may now offically end.

  8. Re:Why? on Crack Found in Shuttle Tank · · Score: 2, Interesting

The technology in the planes you fly in are over 50 years old. Old doesn't always necessarily equate to Bad. NASA doens't have the kind of private sector innovation that the computer you use or the car you drive has. They only have themselves. Hopefully as the X-Prize evolves the private sector will be able to get its foothold in, but untill then, the Shuttle is all we've got. And just because its 24+ years old, doesn't mean it isnt capable.

  9. Hasnt this already happened? on Stardock Developing MMORTS Game · · Score: 2, Interesting

Basically any DnD Computer RPG acts like "The Sims meets Total Anniliation". Creating your character, tweaking stats, strategic placement in battles, it basically seems like a neat way to say something that has been done 30 million times before.

  10. We're the results really that good? on Ars Technica Builds Make Magazine's Steadicam · · Score: 2, Informative

I watched the movie, and really didn't notice ANYTHING that would warrant the time invested in building it. The electronic stabilation sucked, but the steadycam wasn't a vast improvement. Maybe it's just me though.

  11. As an owner of many buildings, I take issue on Grafedia Elevates Graffiti To Art · · Score: 1

I dont care if its art- If I catch you tagging grafitti links on one of my buildings, your next venue will be in the city pen. Grafitti, Art or No, is still wrong. As long as I still have private property rights, anybody who pastes links on my buildings isnt getting off lightly.

  12. Reminds me of another well known scam on Identity Theft Victim Gets Last Laugh · · Score: 5, Funny

For those who haven't seen it (Like anyone in this crowd wouldnt have seen this), I'd suggest reading the P-P-P-Powerbook Story as a great compliment. These stories of Scammers getting Scammed never get old.

  13. Great for College on The World's Most Devious Alarm Clock · · Score: 0

Finally, the Gods have given me a way to make sure that I actually wake up for class. Wait, Scratch that. Sometimes I forget that I'm in college.

  14. Duke Nukem on Major Hangups Over the iPod Phone · · Score: -1, Offtopic

Hey, Duke Nukem Forever may finally have some competition now. After all, I see DN:F going through 10 more total rewrites before I see the baby bells allowing a product that DOESN'T completly overcharge for the extras.

  15. Re:Because... on Buying DRM-Free Songs From the ITMS · · Score: 1

    I would disagree immensley-

Dont forget, Apple has ALSO publically stated on many occasions that the purpose of Itunes has been to boost sales of iPods and secure Apples dominance in the market. So far, it has been incredably successful.

Thus, it seems imperative to keeping that dominance to make the music they sell work only with an iPod. If they all of a sudden open it, then one would be perfectly content buying a 150$ Hard Drive music player instead of a 300$ marked up one.

It's all simple economics, with a little bit of monopolistic competition thrown in there for Micro$oft-ian fun.
