    Although a spider is not an insect, most insects are killed by caffeine, that is why the plants produce it. I don't know of people that have been killed by caffeine, the LD50 for humans is very high.

    That sounds like a challenge.

    VLBI is 51 years old (it actually started in the late 1960's) but it is high quality eVLBI that is basically a product of our century (made possible by all of that nice optical fiber criss-crossing our planet).

    Think about what you typed. VLBI is 51 years old... started in late 1960's. You're sort of right, but it reads wrong.

    Let us assume January 1, 1965 is the start of the "late" 1960's (being the latter half). That would give us 2009-1965 = 44. I'm not sure if I suck at math, but from what I can tell 44 != 51.

    Did a little reading, the first use of VLBI started in '67, so it's only 42 years old, the technique that led to VLBI, using "closure phase" during interferometric observations, was first demonstrated by Roger Jennison 51 years ago.

    I don't do it because of the illegality and the spectre of urinalysis, I get paid well, I like my job. If it were legal, I'd most certainly be a Friday/Saturday toker. I obey the law, even the stupid ones.

    That one's losing its luster. President-Elect Obama basically states in "Dreams from My Father" that he's used marijuana and tried cocaine. Bill Clinton's non-admission was funny and basically a "yeah right" understanding, but now we've got somebody that says, paraphrasing: "Yeah, I did it, not proud of it, but I did it."

    Do you seriously think that drug use wouldn't balloon if it was made legal?

    I think it would balloon initially and then return to a homeostatic point, once the novelty wore off. There's a reason people say: "Ugh, I can't party like I did in college anymore." The novelty wears off, that's why most Dutch aren't pot heads even though they could be if they so chose.
