    Most jobs are to do one of these things:
    1) Make computers do something they haven't done before.
    2) Make computers do something that they used to do but don't do anymore.
    3) Make computers stop doing something that they shouldn't be doing.
    4) Figure out the cause of conditions #2 and #3.

    I personally don't mind the current state of windows drm for wma, but if they reduce the functionality of my computer to prevent me from potentially doing illegal things, while preventing me from doing the idiosyncratic, but legal things I want to do, then forget it.

    I prefer allowing my conscience to prevent me from doing the wrong thing. It's about the locus of control, really.

    You're right. It's one of those slippery slopes. Set the precedent of punishing people for saying something that disagrees with the majority opinion, and pretty soon you have the Sedition Act. Or, the PATRIOT act...

    Could you be more specific? I'm MySQL 5 in my current work and if there is a problem with lack of index utilization when using views I could see some serious problems down the line.

    More to the point, what version of MySQL have you experienced this problem in?

    IANAOC (I am not an organic chemist), but the way I see it, previous buckyball compounds needed to have the soccer ball shape because of the number of free electrons in the molecular bond didn't allow the adjacent pentagon structure to exist. Is it possible that the shell may not have a neutral charge? The molecule within could compensate and that might allow this 'impossible' set of bonds to work.

    Wrong. They shouldn't have the ability to tap my phone without a warrant, regardless of who they think I am. As some people like to say, freedom isn't free. I'd rather there be an attack every few years than such a subversion of our freedoms and liberties - and yes, I mean that. People fought and died to gain freedom in the first place. People fought and died to protect our freedom and reintroduce it to other nations during WWII. Before you give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, put the risks in perspective.

    Plus, this law not only permits what the NSA was already doing, but enables it to do more than it could before. This is more than just retroactively legalizing that inexcusable program.

    And yes, I would categorize myself as a 'rabid Bush-bashing type'.

    This is not a good thing, at all. How exactly do you define a 'service'? How do you define 'accessible'? The judge should have instead called for an extension of the ADA, with explicit description of what sites it applies to and what it means to be accessible.
