Then when candidate A denies sending it after the expected uproar, and accuses B, you really won't know who to believe...
Exactly...we need to keep this sort of childish behaviour out of politics. Blaming the opposition for something you have no clue about just isn't on, and we can't allow it to happen.
As for not knowing who to believe, well I certainly hope that never comes about.
On that note i hate being a paladin..nothing is more boring than being lawful good
Verily, thy comments strike deep into mine soul. If thee is unable to play the part of the paladin with a joyful heart, then thy effort is short of that deserving knightly honour. Surely thou canst piss off all thy friends with an ancient dialect, at the very least?
Nope, that won't work. The cat can then land, feet 'down', on either the above surface or the below surface. There is no force trying to attract the cat's back to one of the surfaces, like in the traditional BT-FAGE (Buttered Toast - Feline AntiGravity Engine) design
I'm not an engineer, but could buttering the cat's feet help here?
Most people have posted about the flight sim or FPS mode of using the extra screen real estate to just show more of the field of view, or in an RTS showing a different part of the map. Most games could be made to show 'something else'. For example, Diablo could show the map on one screen and the inventory / heraldic cube display on the other. Flight sims could use one panel for the view and the other completely devoted to instrumentation. You know, basically all the stuff that is usually along the bottom / top / sides of the screen that just make your gameplay area smaller - put all that on the other screen.
"I've heard"(tm) that the only real physics 'error' in the movie is when the guy was drinking stuff out of his little tray though straws. When he stopped drinking, the fluid went back down the straw. In 0-G, this wouldn't happen.
I'm not sure if Clarke just didn't think about it at the time, or if little valves on the straws were prohibitively expensive.

Video CD's use MPEG-1 compression, and most movies will usually fit on 2 cdroms. When shown on a TV, the quality is comparable to VHS, although there can be occasional (small) artifacts if there is sudden fast motion. Whilst the quality is obviously not as good as DVD, it is reasonably good.
I don't have experience with DiVX myself, but I expect that it should get better compression than MPEG-1. I don't find Per_Wigren's claims unreasonable.
I don't know of any at all. I should have added a sarcasm tag to be previous comment:-)
I haven't tried any DOS games on Win2k, so I can't help you there. Maybe you could just install some of your older games and see if they work. You also find lots of old DOS (and windows) games on abandonware web sites.
No, I don't know the technical details, but yes, I'll agree that closer to the hardware means faster. Is that why so many games are still written in DOS?
I was referring to the gamers point of view. Windows has the best support for games, and you don't have to piss around with device drivers and himem settings to get them to work.
Windows runs games fast enough because of advances in hardware. When future advances mean that the performance of games written in Java is acceptable, other advantages of Java will become a factor.
The clerk says 'you can have another word - why not put "meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow".'

The 2.5 gig also includes stuff like the OEM agent and management server, the management tools (all with GUI), the names server, development libraries (for C and Java, plus others like Cobol and Fortran), network configuration tools (also GUI), the graphical installer tools, documentation, and sample database. There is undoubtedly lots of other stuff but I don't have access to an Oracle installation at the moment to tell you what is in each directory.
Next time you do an install, maybe you can uncheck the parts of the distribution that you don't want.
Why bother? Because things change. Years after the 'most stable Windows ever' (Win 3.1) was introduced, gamers knew that the best gaming environment, without question, was DOS.
Now, it's Windows.
Next, why could it not be Java? They have as good a chance as anyone else. And, if the entire effort required to port it to a new system is to carry the CD over to the other box, game developers will be able to get access to a much bigger market with ZERO extra effort.
If they are a just a little bit bored, get them to write a webserver in Perl.
If they are really bored, get them to write it in Java.
If they are exceptionally bored, get them to write a Linux VM - there should be plenty of work for everyone incorporating the 'advice' that everyone seems to have on the subject.
In order to be a little bit useful - write a list of topics and get the students to rate themselves. They may not be as bright as they thought, or brighter than they thought, but you will get a good idea to start with.

Such as influencing abortion, stem cell research or homosexual marriage legislation, for example?

Try browsing Slash at -1, and you'll see plenty of wide pages. Shrink the window doesn't help.
For a different perspective on this, take a look at nomorefakenews. I don't know how accurate this spin is, but it is interesting reading.

Whoops - I modded it up a bit early. This post is to remove the mod point.
Damn. Now I can't mod anything else on this discussion. Is there a better way to back out a moderation?

I hadn't thought of that. Remember that July is the middle of winter here in Oz.

Are you sure they wouldn't keep it in Norway?
What you should do is move levy-paid Canadian CDR's to the US, where they can copy as many audio CD's as they like.
Or doesn't it work that way?
I thought that was only when you were looking at them.

A cat goes into the post office and asks to send a telegram. The clerk tells the cat he can have 16 words for $5. The cat writes out the message:
