Ya, from the first day of SCO's lawsuit we knew it was completely nuts, and held no merit. As the weeks went on, and the evidence didn't pile on, it just became more obvious. Now it's like man SCO download a linux kernel and point at the stuff, or man...it's like so freaking old. Mr (Mrs?) (Cunt?) McBride show me some shit or shut the fuck up!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!

A couple of thoughts on that. Say you could download the tv show..would the quarter make up to the advertisers that you're not watching their commercials? Commercials do make a good time to hit the restroom, fridge, go outside to smoke, so often people don't catch them anyways. Also, if you paid the station a quarter...that's a quarter they wouldn't have gotton if you just watched it without commercials. I'm with you, a quarter almost seems too much (unless you don't have the option of watching it without commercials). After all, that's kindof the way that radio stations and tv works, it's free, but they play 2 songs then 10 minutes of commercials :)

Then again Windows has a few consistant points that aren't always there in X. But basically, if it matters that much to you, you can get all the wonderfulness of windows in X and still have the other goodness X managers supply that Windows doesn't. I haven't run Windows for years, but I really enjoyed it when I did. Compare windows with SuSE for example, or compare it to Gentoo, Slackware, Debian, or any distro where you can do whatever you want with it. Windows is great and all, but for whatever reason it's good, it's not the end all and be all :) For one thing 10 years ago there were hundreds of games out. Which can you go to the store and buy now? Which are still around even? Can you still play them? NO. With Linux you have hundreds of games and programs. I mean I still have boxes of 5.25 disks with games and stuff but for most people Windows means new stuff.

I'll beg to differ a bit. When I was at college, the opportunity to spend a couple minutes at a Mac usually ended up with me leaving, in less than a minute, due to a headache. Seriously the thing seemed sluggish, the refresh was hyptonizing me, and two parts - everything seemed counter-intuitive and 1 mouse button?

I wouldn't call it a paragon of usability. It may just be me, but I always seeked out the sparcs where I could just log onto the unix system. Could do almost as well logging on at home over the console with modem on an 8088 with 640k ram and a CGA screen, console hasn't changed too much since then.

But don't get me wrong, I'm not bashing Macs. I honestly don't have enough experience with them to bash them. I just question the term "paragon of usability". OS X seems good, I played with it at CompUSA for like 2 or 3 minutes and thought, "cool" with no headache :)

The anti-science activists are retards who argue nothing that makes sense - Limbuagh. He may have a point to make in an argument, but he has his radio show, and just calls anyone who doesn't agree with him "liberals" and therefore a stupid asshead with no reason to listen to him. In fact Limbaugh said he would take no calls, he will say all there is to be said. And Republicans listen to him? And we should respect people for being Republicans even though they tolerate fecal matter like Rush on the radio?

The day before Limbaugh was arguing that anyone who said Global Warming can be caused in any way by humans is a complete idiot. He has no frontal brain! I'm not saying it's the USA's fault that the climate is increasing, only that we don't dump tons of bullshit that we don't have to in nature because we are getting our penis pleasure'd by Republican doners and junkies and lobotomy-improved "ONLY VOTE STRAIGHT TICKET REPUBLICAN' types. I guess I am generalizing and lumping lots of people into a group to be insulted because I only have to turn on the radio and hear Rush doing exactly that.

Sorry I guess I just feel like being a dick today. Republicans make a lot of sense sometimes, but their tolerance for assholes like Rush on the radio makes me doubt their sincerity. At least Glenn Beck makes sense a lot of the time, and even in his day-after-election gloating he was funny as hell.

Frankly, it's been soooooo nice to have a completely functional computer for the last several years (no MS). With all the billions they have in the bank? And they still expect Joe Moron Consumer to give them their hard earned cash to "upgrade"? Ya they can buy a anti-spyware program and there is absolutely no conflict of interest. When Microsoft (CD-ROM is the future! Buy our Encarta or any of our plethera of CD-ROMS, because internet is stupid!!!) finally joined the internet, and brainwashed millions of people to use "Internet Explorer".......well, they were stepping in deeper S**T than they expected (tied to the operating system?). It was pretty unglamourous, and I could barely make it out, after looking for a long time. It basically just looked like a fuzzy spot, much like the Orion Nebula, but even more dim. Also this is way out here in the boonies pretty far from cities, with the moon pretty newish that night. (Couldn't find my stinking binoculars!!)

Unfortunately, not much like Hale-Bopp...we were very very lucky with that comet. Do you remember being able to see it even in the middle of the day? You could watch it sink down to the horizon and a few hours later pop up again... it was so pretty.

Look at some of his work in the 40's, then look at "The Gods Themselves" from the 70's (one of his only science fiction novels from that decade). Also look at his later robot series and compare them to the first. You can find things to criticize, if you want, but it's without a doubt the same writer (My favorite is The Robots of Dawn).
