This borders on editorializing. I tried out the suggest feature, and typed in Office 2003. As I was typing it listed 10 or so "more complete" search terms. By the time I got to "Offi" it had numerous suggestions for cracks, warez, and keygens. These aren't sites, these are search terms.
I guess this means a lot of people search for these things. But it's probably fair to complain about Google actually suggesting these search terms.
I personally disagree with this complaint, but I understand it.
What's funny is these are based on actual search statistics. I always knew a lot of people were up to no good, but it seems that the majority of people who type in office 2003 want to hack it.
BMW always scores in the bottom 1/4 or so of Consumer Reports reliability rankings. Kia is down there too with the other makes I'd never buy. It doesn't matter though, I don't know anybody who buys BMW because they're reliable.
Google "ring species" and you will see that this is well studied. There are salamanders, for example, that can interbreed with neighbors in a ring, but not with all other members of the ring.
GP, please change your sig. Either provide a faq link or give 'er a rest. I, for one, am getting sick of seeing this OT subthread in every article you post to.
You're making some assumptions here. There are places on this planet with little to no effective government right now. Do you think Iraqi customers have recourse if they get socked with excessive bank fees? Or Somalians?
My company does business in countries where bribery is the only way to get government action. It's a cultural thing. They keep refining and changing corporate policy on this because there really is no way to avoid bribery.
Those Nigerian fraudsters pay 30-70% of their "winnings" to Western Union, with nobody to complain to. Sometimes they are robbed of their entire take, with governmental/Western Union complicity (not that I cry for the poor scammers)
Just because you live in a country with rules, courts, etc. doesn't mean everyone does.
Have you noticed that the same things spam is about are adsensed to death? (pills, porn, diets, mmf) I always assumed it was the same people.
Let's say a company sells pills. They're going to spam, SEO, adsense, maybe even dabble in paper spam. If spammers are stopped, there are less of these people selling pills, or making less money. Less money for google. Maybe it'd drive up adsense prices, who knows? Anyway, google is benefiting from a huge, profitable pill-selling industry. Attack it too hard and google's bottom line will reflect it.
I used a T-Mobile phone as a modem for a while (pretty slow - averaged about 100kbit , high latency) and even doing filesharing regularly never hit the 2Gb limit.
I'm a (reluctant) foxpro developer and I haven't heard of "microsoft fox server."
Of course, I just finished migrating all our foxpro code to a civilized language... (I kid, foxpro has come a long way, but I don't want to maintain foxpro code. What would my friends think?)
My gmail account gets close to no spam, too. I assume it is because it is my newest account, and if I ever get around to moving everything to it the spam will find its way there too. I'd estimate that gmail accounts for maybe 1% of email addresses max, so it isn't relevant yet.
It's just a conflict of interest. If spammers/SEOers/scamsters die, google's profits decline. They're trying to help, but I don't think they can try too hard.
They should convert those "Better dead than red" bumper stickers to say "Better dead than fed." It'd recycle, express the situation, and give them a nice headache.
That'd be an imposing system arrayed against the spammers. Too bad it probably won't happen.
Google makes a lot of money off spammers. They don't want the industry to go away. If disreputable everchanging entities aren't trying to outbid each other Google loses money.
Good point. Not to mention, why destroy a laptop's intended use and make it fragile to save a mere 1/2" and a pound at most? You're not rock climbing here, it's not as if every ounce and cubic centimeter is precious.
They did sue Maxell, and now everyone in the US (as well as most other 1st world countries) pays a tax on blank cassettes (and blank music CDs) to the RIAA.
That's probably what the RIAA wants in this case. A tax on based on song capacity per month would be ideal I suspect.
This is similar to golden rice which is a vitamin A enriched form of rice intended for developing countries. Cheaper than supplements or "proper" sources of vitamin A.
It's beneficial for the exec doing the offshoring: lower costs this financial quarter = nice bonus and a better offer from another company.
I've seen this kind of thing over and over, and it usually benefits one person.

OT, maybe mythbusters need to do a show busting the myth that their sexuality is relevant or interesting.

I don't like installing toolbars, but you can dink around with the suggest feature here

Here's some light on the subject
Either way, the spammers are bidding up adsense rates.

Because they started failing classes and their grants/loans/parent's money dried up. I never saw it happen in any other order.
Of course, school is more expensive now. I don't think human nature has changed, though.

Maybe Sony should have contacted whoever makes Blu-Ray disks and asked to have one. Pretty sad.

You haven't seen the new laptop/garment bags? Very handy! Hangs on a hook, keeps your suit warm.
As a proud Qwest customer, I know the true reason they didn't hand over the records.
Incompetence.
Every time I've had to deal with Qwest they fuck it up hard. Even turning on a phone line doesn't go well. You'd think they'd be good at that.
I suspect the NSA asked for the info, Qwest tried to comply and failed. Then called it integrity.

There are some authorities. First google result for "halal food authority" returned this (flash warning)
