  2. good ol' standards workz on Slashdot HTML 4.01 and CSS · · Score: 1

HURRAY for Slashdot, glad to see they've moved up the ladder with compliant standard web development. Kudos to all those that helped in making Slashdot and redesigned to be exactly the same. Hope to see user preferred themes soon or yet best, i would love to see that Slashdot would allow their stlyesheets to be replaced with others.

if remote servers are capable of disabling the player remotely, then why not just reverse engineer it to enable it at will?

i'll wait till someone can figure that one out.

  4. Curiousity of Google & space connections... on Google Seeks to Develop Parallel Internet? · · Score: 1

Maybe the case of Google purchasing its own fiber optics is not for "evil" intensions and quite reasonable for future plans - I'm quite sure that I read somewhere Google is developing some kind of astronomy datacenters to map the complete sky and universe and that computing the teraflop databanks may take hours, if not days and/or months! This would probably seem to be the reason to own such unused fiber optics and be able to transmit gigaflops of data from and to different locations. After all, i don't believe Google can just map the entire universe and sky from its headquarter locations. Then again, Google always seems to amaze me.

Maybe Wayne Rosing and Google still have a connection and common interest after all.

Maybe i read wrong or i may be the only one paying a little bit too much attention to some print articles. Hence, i might also have read it recently on Wired Magazine (sorry but i dont have Wired Mag copies this moment), but you may correct me on this one =)

The above idea and understanding of Google's action and what i read in a glance just 'googles', err Boggles, my mind.

  5. change of minds ? on How to Do Everything with PHP and MySQL · · Score: 1

I, for one, am dedicated to PHP & MySQL but lately I"ve been experimenting with Coldfusion. Now I realize that Coldfusion is no open-source but in the past months, it has been a very good friend to me unlike PHP. CFM gave me the quick and easy commands to perform what I do on a daily basis or easy intergration ongoing projects.

In all, PHP & MySQL are by far the best there is, but i still have to explore other regions. Hence, I do not look forward anytime nor in the future to ASP.Net. I like to stay away from the proprietary enforcements and give my small snippets a chance when I need them on open-source applications!

  6. Web Changing... on Google Releases Maps API for External Use · · Score: 1

This is going to change the web in a small way and I for-see corporations world-wide using Google Maps API's in the few days to a week. I also can predict that even more crazy scripts and mods to Google Maps will appear soon. I better get back to the Google wagon and continue tinkering with refined web-ideas! Thanks Google!

  7. Reseller Program, anyone?? on Microsoft Sets Value Of Pirated Windows: $1 · · Score: 1

Its just a matter of time before we see a "reseller program" from Indonesia for Microsoft software. I wonder if anyone has thought about a startup reseller/wholesale business in Indonesia for a few month's then sell the products internationally for what it's worth $1 and pay shipping prices ($5 - $50; depending your location). AD: "Get your Windows XP or M$ products for only a buck, you pay just for shipping! Its legal and fast!". ~ This idea wouldn't surprise me.

  9. takedown! on HP Announces National Id System Built on .NET · · Score: 1

Maybe its not HP or Intel or others we have to worry about, atleast i feel that they are being manipulated by Micro$oft (MS) to join some kinda of alliance to govern identities world-wide with unique and traceble ID systems. The problems is MS and its vast network of partners. Soon we will see MS at its glory with the world at the palm of its hand - and then what!?!?! (BAAM)!! they get hit and charged for monopolizing the industries and takedown by governments that will want to have control over these ID systems. I fear this most than anything else!

  10. i smell trouble... on Intel Adds DRM to New Chips · · Score: 1

With recent DRM techniques as Intels next CPU, i can only predict trouble in the near future and hacks/reverse engineering to disable the DRM strict rules. Hopefully AMD won't take the same route of doom as Intel is putting in their corporate future. But then Intel maybe smart after all and allow consumers to disable at will the DRM restrictions! Lets see how far Intel and other companies go with DRM.

  11. crazy! on Google Hacking for Penetration Testers · · Score: 2, Interesting

These hacks are just the beginning and i can't wait to see how far Google will allow such queries to go on. I probably think that Google will limit special or *hacking technique queries search anytime soon, if not expect big brother or corporate giants to interfere with search engines and take actions against these small but powerful methods of hacking thru 'search engines'.
