actualy, it's more like, to further the socalist agenda of the democrates and the UN...same with that bit in Indonesia going on now...that govt. gave campaighn money to Clinton, too.
my life is at an end...gillian anderson is the hottest person ever..not only that, X-Files kick ass...i got depressed when she had the baby so they staged the abduction bit...this totaly sucks..i'll never leave my computer again now..it's the last thing i have left to live for...
i totaly believe in capitalism, and i say boxen..which by the way this the plural form of box when refering to computers. you're a socialist bastard. they have every right to charge what ever the hell they want to for there work. Linus could just have easily done the same, but he didn't want to. I suppose next you will say that we should lock up all the AT&T executives for suing Berkeley? all though, if they hadn't, linus would be suing FreeBSD and you would have nothing to shout about over there like some sort of ape man fag.
hey, if any companies take them up on this, please tell me so i know who not to buy things from...i don't want any potential back doors in anything, especialy not that the government can play with.
Ok, i don't get it...Virginia [to coin a phrase] "sux0rz", i should know, i live here. i havn't seen anything to make me think that this is the "internet capital of the world" besides for UUnet and AOL (does it count?)...i mean, i do have 2 ISPs in my town, but only one counts (my isp kick ass...a bunch of load-ballanced FreeBSD boxes..the one accross town runs Linux, but the admins just play Quake logged in as root on 2 tty's). how ever, half the population at least is like, bubba-ville (atleast the part of the state i'm in)
maybe if i got my ass out of my room, off of my computers, and looked out side, i might see where the c@pital is...hrm...oh well

I think Raster should be nominated, as if it wheren't for him, FreeBSD and GNU/Linux would look so damned attractive to people who can't deal with Tcsh, and M$ would have a greater market share, not to mention that it is the first fully gnome-compliant window manager, and Gnome stole a bunch of morons from MS for RH... not like i care..I use Fvwm 2.2.2 and a bunch of X terms
personaly, I think FreeBSD is the best OS in existance. I learned UNIX on a FreeBSD box. I havn't played with the other BSDs yet, but if i do, OpenBSD is my next stop. I have used Linux, and used it faitfuly for a year and a half, but i'm moving back to BSD. but it has nothing to do with any of these articles. i'm just a firm believer in BSD, the developement modle, and the culture. Linux zelots have issues.
i'm pretty sure you're right on that...wasn't the first distribution, like SLS or somthing? Anyway, what's with Linux people calling it a FreeBSD distribution and such anyway? there is ONE FreeBSD, which for all intensive purposes is NOT NetBSD, or OpenBSD. they are different operating systems, unlike RedHat, Caldera, and SuSE Linux's, which are all pretty much the same thing. if you compile a copy of something on a RedHat system, it will most likely work on a Caldera system or what ever, assumning you have the same C libs. If i compile something on FreeBSD, NetBSD may not run it, but OpenBSD has an emulator for FreeBSD binaries (which show obviouse lack of binary compatablility in the first place)
i learned UNIX when i was 12 on a FreeBSD system...i decided to use GNU/Linux instead of FreeBSD when i decided i knew enough to run *nix all the time...how ever, about a month ago, i've been moving everything on my home system over to FreeBSD. I loved that article. it's great to see BSD getting the propaganda..i mean, recognition it needs. Only thing i want to know is, why is BSD a programme, and Linux an operating system, when *BSD is the kernel, and the libraries and the tools, and linux is just a kernel? and also, i don't get why Linux users are agsinst BSD users and vice versa, just because of their OS? i think it comes for insecurites Linux people have about crappy memory managment, and BSD people getting defensive =0) just my two cents
bsDaemon dfree@inna.net and my ISP runns FreeBSD, too!
why not get GCC or somthing on your box?
middle button click, then under Maintenence, the "rebuild menus" script
