The Ipod did not rethink internal storage. The Ipod is an Internal Hardrive player. The Personal Jukebox (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Personal_Jukebox) was the first of the type, released in 1999, 2 years before the Ipod.
Those numbers refer to both handheld systems (which despite my current favorite is completely dominated by Mario Inc.) and console sales. It also has an interesting way of comparing the sales and some interesting wording as far as what conditions these numbers are under. The Wikipedia article for the console wars gives a better figure for all three consoles. And I quote "The current worldwide sales stand at around 18.9 million for the Gamecube, 18.1 million for the Xbox and in excess of 80 million for the PS2." Since this particular is about consoles, I'd say that Nintendo's market share is nothing great.
When you buy a Gamecube, what games do you want? Metroid, Mario, and Zelda. All first party games. A PS2? Grand Theft Auto, Final Fantasy, Gran Tourismo. An Xbox? KOTOR, Halo, and Fable. With the arguable exception of Halo, all third party.
Nintendo knows the best games on their system are going to be their own, so they make their hardware cheap and simple and move on to the games. Playstations and Xboxes are sold because most of the great games from a lot of developers go there instead. So they make their systems into little supercomputers hoping that the developers will think the more capable system is more worth of their game. Sony and Microsoft don't come up with new stuff because they have more than enough people to do if for them.
I can't say the Sims is that diffrent, but Civilization is a strategy game. It is in a whole diffrent league. It has some good simulation elements, but it is pretty much just a really nice strategy game with a turn based system.
Think of it this way. PA and UF are both comdeians. Both are trying to go out there and deliver the funny. PA has more varied jokes while UF tends to go the Linux be are teh roxxor route. Occasionally they'll try telling the same kind of joke, maybe customer support for example. UF's material is like this http://ars.userfriendly.org/cartoons/?id=20050328
PA's version of customer support is this http://www.penny-arcade.com/view.php3?date=2000-02 -09&res=l
Now obviously the PA one is funnier. You know this, I know this, Illiad knows this. But the Rabid Userfriendly Fans (TM) refuse to believe anything is funny unless their overlord writes it. So they bitch about how everyone unfairly says Uf sucks, even though everyone and their mom knows UF sucks hardcore. A PA fan points this fact out, and like fanboy fights throuhgout the internet a flamewar begins.
I happen to live in the Atlanta area. I happen to go to school. I happen to go to a school that is using Mealpay. Here's how it works in practice. Every student is assigned a six (new kids get 7 digits now) digit number. This number is used to log into the school's computer network and to buy food at lunch. At every checkout line is a small keypad where we punch in that number. Once we do that, the lady working the register punches in what we buy on a touch screen. We can either pay for it cash or have it automatically deducted.
Most of that you could have gathered from the article, I know. Anyway, I think its a decent system compared to our old one. Before we had to either bring cash every day or go down to the cafeteria first thing in the morning to drop off a check and hope you get to homeroom on time. Now all I have to do is go online and a few clicks later I have food tommorow. My mom doesn't really care what I pick up at lunch and even if she did she is way to computer illiterate to figure out how to look up what I've been eating. Also the line moves much faster now that the whole thing is mostly automated instead of waiting for the lunch lady to find my name among a million others in the computer.
Does that mean I can't build my space ship out of pencils? Damn! Hours of work wasted. Next you're going to say that copper wire I was using to insulate it is a bad idea.
Breaking news today. We've just recieved word the Phantom still isn't coming. In other shocking news, a massive orb of light scientists are calling the "sun" is moving across the sky. Wait, I've just recieved more astonshing news. We are getting word that smoking is infact bad for your health. Unbelivable news day folks.
I have a wireless Logitech for my PS2. I haven't noticed any delays and I usually have a spare battery or two around. I can't speak for their Xbox stuff but their (and hopefully other) wireless controllers aren't very gimmicky, in my opinion.
My network is fairly small compared to the typical geek. I have a P4 running XP, a P3 on 98, a 2Wire wireless router/network manager/dsl modem, my PS2 and my PSP. I still have plenty of room to expand.
There is an entire website devoted to people typing mindless drivel about their high-tech tomagachis? I'd say something all snarky and sarcastic but I think I just had an anurism.
Fugly doesn't begin to describe the level of disgusting the cheerleaders in Madden 2005. They look like you slapped some 50 year old's face on a skinny girl's body and gave her huge sagging tits.
Take GT4, make it hi-def, ANTI-ALIAS IT, add damage to the cars, increase the background detail and you could have one FANTASTIC looking game.
As long as GT games use liscensed cars, they will probably never have anything close to realistic impact damage. Otherwise those sound like exactly what I'd expect from a next-gen GT.
I figured that Sony would probably make the PSP remotable eventually, but not because of the WiFi connection. Most remotes infrared signals. The PSP has IR. I doubt it would be that hard to add a remote function using it. It isn't even that new an idea. The Gameboy Color had an IR port, and you could buy a cartrige that made it a universal remote. I wouldn't be surprised if something along these lines was added in the next firmware update.
The Sony rep suggested that PSP owners who encounter the pixel issue should try the device "for a week or two" to see if it continues to bother them. "If you find the spots are interfering with gameplay/video viewing during this period, we will support the various elements of [the PSP] warranty," the rep said.
They wont fix it isn't invasive. They'll still fix it if it gives you problems.
I never did. Read my post please."Except it's a new release, and the DS sold much better during the same period of its release"
I suggest you read your post. Also, I never supported his claim of a 2:1 ratio. That statistic is very wrong. But that doesn't make yours right. Also "its" means it is, "it's" is the possesive from of it.
Nokia is Finnish, not American.

I meant in a garage. When I'm in New York, I'm in places where the street is full and I usually don't go to the outer bouroughs.
Where can you get $20 parking in New York and who do you have to kill to get a space? I've seen it be $35 on a good day.
I'd say the PS2 controller is better, but to each his own.

Your DVD player can reproduce the images. It can't make them from scratch.

The day Quebec joins the US is the day we nuke our own soil.
The in-game soda for San Andreas was called Sprunk. You can go down to the local Cluckin Bell and pick some up.
Goddammit. Number one, they need to be reversed. Its is the possesive. Also, I belive they spell it form these days.

I wonder if they name the islands after the winner's username. Because I would love to look on my map and see Captain Asshat Island.
