So, why then do people seem to think it suddenly becomes moral and OK to have those conditions in a place 3,000 miles away? If it's Not OK here, then it's not OK there.

It's not just 3,000 miles away : it's also in another country and they still have the final say about what is ok or not in their own country.

  7. Didn't seem to be a problem for Nintendo and Sony on Valve Shows How Steam Controller Works In Real Life · · Score: 1

The point is Valve came up with Steam Box but all of their own titles are designed for mouse and keyboard, so they needed an appropriate controller or there wouldn't be anything to play. I was wondering how they were going to solve this problem and this controller design was a brilliant solution.

Nintendo and Sony didn't have anything to play with the NES, SNES and the PS1 either.
They just made sure games would come out and work with their console and controller.
    Worked well enough for them.

  13. Re:Too early to tell on French Elections Could Affect HADOPI, ACTA · · Score: 1

Considering Sarkozy got only 1% less of the vote than Hollande in the first round, it's far too early to call it. All the folks that voted for other candidates will pick 1 of the 2 in the next round, and considering the massive amount of votes that went to Le Pen...we might very well be seeing more of Sarkozy.

It's a little above 1% for Hollande which is bad for Sarkozy considering I don't think any previous president has ever won without being the lead in the first round by at least 2% or 3%. Not all Le Pen votes will go to Sarkozy and all things considered, we're looking at an estimated final result 43~45% for Sarkozy and 57~55% for Hollande. Also, for the whole last year I think all estimates have always given the same result or close in a final duel Sarkozy vs Hollande. Some people in France really don't want to see Sarkozy president again and, try as he might, he could not do anything in the last year to lift this feeling the french people have against him.

They really ought to push to outlaw speakers and headphones. After all, if you can hear it, you can remember it, and each time you get an earworm, you are "enjoying" an uncompensated performance of that copyrighted material. Likewise, if you can hear it, it can be recorded. Clearly, analog devices such as speakers and headphones are designed primarily for the purpose of copy infringement and ought to be outlawed. This is a known security hole http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_rights_manage ment#Analog_hole, it will be fixed eventually.
