What do you mean by "promote a regressive religion"? Which religion is that? And which religion is responsible for which deaths? Any ideology and religion can be used to promote murder. Regardless of the real content of the ideology and religion. Examples are Socialism, Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Patriotism, and Liberalism. While Socialism aims to give workers/employees control over the companies they work in (so there is private property, but its distribution is different) and they decide democratically over what to do also considering minority rights. However, the true implementation was quite the opposite. In Christianity, the key element is peace and forgiveness, help others even if they are your enemies, in short be nice to each other. Unfortunately, people have burned books (just recently) in the name of Christianity, they waged war, burnt people etc. Islam is also a peace loving religion (it literally means peace). they even have rules to be nice to other religions. However, reality is quite different. They even massacre other Muslims for being not faithful enough or following the wrong teachings. Buddhism is a religion people associate with peace and mindfulness, but in Myanmar they use the religion to sanction murder of minorities (not very Buddhist). Same shit with Liberalism. Usually it should give everyone freedom as long as the freedom of others is not in conflict. In the epoch of enlightenment, western society came up with three elements: Freedom (Liberty), fraternity, egality. They only work together. If you choose one other the other, it will end in some sort of tyranny. Total liberty also called libertarian ends up in fascism as it negates egality.

We have all day an overcapacity. That is why we sell more electricity to our neighbors than they sell to us. The cause for the high price for consumers is solely based on the fact that wind and solar power get an more or less guaranteed minimum price for electricity which was well below electricity cost in the past. Unfortunately, the big coal plants did not go offline. Therefore, we have a massive overcapacity, which ruins the price, which should make it actually cheaper for the end user, but that end user has to support the guaranteed minimum price. Therefore, the price should be stable. However, for some strange reasons only the little people and companies which do not use a lot of electricity have to come up with the compensation while high energy consumers can enjoy the lowest electricity prices in history. Therefore, average Joe has to pay more.

If the earth would be flat than we would have sunrise for all at the same time. Or no sunrise at all (in the spotlight model). Furthermore, you can test the earth curvature when looking over the ocean. Do this from high enough altitude, use your best telescope and then try to see the Eifel tower from New York. Also you can follow ships and when the water is cold you can see that the first thing to go on any ship is the lower parts and the chimney/sail can be seen for a longer time.

There is also another experiment. Have a friend who lives south or north (1000 km at least) of your place. Build two tables and insert into this a stick upright. Then place one table at your home and one at his home. The table must be perfectly horizontal. Now you collect for half a year from highest to lowest position of the sun the angle between the sun and the surface. You can do this by measuring the length of the shadow and calculating the arc with acos((l_shadow + l_stick - sqrt(l_shadow + l_stick))/( 2 * l_shadow * l_stick)). With the two angles and the distance between you and your friend, you can calculate the distance of the sun in your flat earth model and subsequently its heights above the surface. According to flat earth idea, it should be always at approx. 4000 something km.

Also you can make this experiment as follows. Use a friend east of you (the farer away the better). Every day you see a sunrise, you write down the angle between ground and sun. And at the same time your friend takes a measurement (call him and synchronize your efforts). On a flat earth you should experience sunrise at the same time. On a spherical earth this will happen at different points in time. Anyway, for your flat model, the height of the sun should be the same.

Where I agree with you is that part of the present mess is the huge inequality in western societies and especially the us. Furthermore, the huge transformative forces of globalization change the live of many people without their consent. So they are not actively engaged in the change but changed by it. No one wants that. Unfortunately, we move towards a feudalistic system or oligarchic system. The people did not want that. Therefore, they voted Trump, who in turn is also just one more oligarch. For example, secondary education inside the Bologna zone (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bologna_Process) which includes many countries in Europe, secondary education may refer to master degrees, whereas in the EU education framework primary = primary school (up until 4th/6th grade), secondary = high school/gymnasium/grammar school/secondary school/access to universities and tertiary = university education. This is especially required with this topic, as student in the US and UK may refer to school children and university students, whereas in, e.g., Germany there are different terms for both groups (Schüler/Student like schooler/student).

Also tuition free universities are there to allow people to study what they want regardless of their income or their parents income. Also education is a human right. We do this to fight inequality in Germany. And before I forget, having people in CS who would otherwise decided to go for an MBA is a bad idea. Those people (you described) do not have the necessary skills to get into CS. In CS there are no entry restrictions in Germany, still we cannot fill all seats and after 3 or 4 years only half of the people who entered graduate. The rest just do not have any kind of frustration tolerance (which is in high demand in CS). All the deep learning stuff is there to classify data transforming it into information. And they still have the same issues than before, but with some more software and more processing power, we can handle this better now than then. You still need rule-based systems to check if the classification results make any sense in your model.
