This is an excellent attitude. While many people may feel that they should be able to dress/adorn themselves anyway they feel makes them unique/cool/etc, they still have to deal with the rest of the world who may or may not feel comfortable with this appearance. Just as I may not feel the need to shower for days on end (I do shower daily, it's just an example), the rest of the people I come in contact with may not appreciate the odor. My odor may not detract from my work so I may say "What difference does it make?" but the reality is that your appearance does have an impact on your work. I HAVE had an employee that smelled so bad that it would make you physically ill to be within 20 feet of him. Several customers complained and insisted that he NEVER return. He was a good enough employee but the simple fact was that I could not have an employee who could not make himself presentable to my customer. The same goes for tats / BM / or whatever other "unique" feature you may have. If you wish to work in a publicly visible workplace you must be willing to either A) present a "professional" appearance by covering up or removing anything that may not be acceptable to some or B) accept the fact that you just won't be accepted by some employers.
I personally do not give a damn how someone looks while they are doing their own business, shopping, etc. I would not however appreciate for example a server at a restaurant I am dining at with visible facial piercings, horns, tats up and down their arms, neck, etc. I WILL likely ask the manager for another server and I don't care how well they can perform their job. Do not expect me to accept you for who you present yourself as, it just won't happen.

Because its nice to be able to stick the box on the floor in the corner and not have to stretch my arms to wherever the short ass keyboard/mouse wires will reach. Plus I can throw the kb and mouse in a drawer and not have it clutter up my already cluttered desk, which also happens to be why I mounted my 2 LCD's on the wall in front of me and didn't set them on the desk. My desk realestate is precious. The only drawback is that my somewhat older M$ wireless desktop keyboard has a nasty habit of missing a letter here and there. o igure

One thing that does make a difference is how fast you drive on the highway. I know I get much worse mileage driving at 80-90 than I do at 60-70.
I drive a 2004 Toyota Sienna... Usually more city miles than highway but on my last roundtrip to Harrisburg, PA from South Bend, IN I Averaged 30mpg. My mileage on the way there was 32MPG (with the air on much of the time) and I took the tollroad thru IN, OH and PA and drove 70-80+mph when possible (most of the time). The return trip I took 80 thru the hills and small towns in PA and toll road the rest and still drove like a bat outta hell when I could and got 28mpg (due to the stop and go thru PA). When I make local short highway trips I don't drive nearly as fast (60-65max) and get 28 max. Not bad for a 240hp V-6 van in any case, hell even my '00 Camery with a gutless 4 cyl could barely manage 25-26 on the highway.

You're right... I never get a BSOD on the few I have . They just randomly lock up or reboot at various times. These are office machines, not gaming rigs. The one that is giving me fits right now is a fresh install of XP Pro with updates, not a bit of spyware. I will admit... it has been far less flaky than previous versions but thats like saying that shooting yourself in the leg hurts less than the gut.
