The new Super Mario Bros. is slated for release on May 15, 2006, according to Nintendo's American website. Now seeing how that's a couple of weeks away, I have my doubts.
If the "over-merchandise" by making an enjoyable game, all the power to them. Don't dismiss something instantly because it involves over-merchandized characters or ideas.
Buy the good stuff like this game and ignore the crap (and there's a LOT of disney crap), and maybe they'll learn to make better merchandise for their films.
But they probably won't. But still you get to stop whining and enjoy something.
From a biological standpoint, yes. your body is more likely to fight a disease if you mentally think you can get better. And from the purely psychological side, if you're going to die, would you rather despair or at least think you can make it and be optimistic?
It's so refreshing to see some sense in slashdot. I'm not religious either, but when my loved ones who are religious are sick, it really does give them hope. So get off your athiest high horses already.
Every forum I've ever seen specifically notes that they aren't responsible for the posts, including/. . RTFA, the supremacist in question owned the ISP. Which means it IS their responsibility. As a Canadian I'm happy about this ruling. As for the comments I'm seeing here, it's the typical/. fare: They see the words "freedom of speech", start acting like their being oppressed by a militant regime, and don't even care to look into what's going on.
But, seeing how 2 orbiters DIDN'T properly enter orbit, it's not a given that an orbiter will enter orbit. Therefore it is news. Just like not all fireplaces cause fires. Otherwise we'd have a very ravaged society.
From their point of view, does it matter if people keep on coming back to play one game on WiFi? There's no monthly cost anyway, they don't profit from continued use like Microsoft does.
The university in question is Lakehead University, in Thunder Bay. Which is in Northern Ontario, which isolated, cold and desolate even by Canadian standards. And that's saying something, eh?
I hear they just got phones last week, so this "Wi-Fi" is surely the work of witchcraft.
The (limited) service is given to Chinese people. They're not all "evildoers", so why deny them service, or at least as much service as possible? Sure they can't look up Tiannemen Square, but they can still google for a recipe or such.
Basically, what it means is that some information is better than no information. Seeing how Google's options were allow Chinese censorship or to just allow no information. So this situation is better than the "total censorship" of the service not existing at all.
Oxygen IS really dangerous. It's the fuel for every combustion reaction (hence why it is in the fuel to begin with), and can explode. And if it's leaking, the explosion may no longer be directed in the way you want it, and suddenly BOOM! no more shuttle, no more crew, etc.
"one of the most toxic substances around"
pfft, mercury vapour. you can do a lot worse than mercury. And ac'mon, it says the difficulty is "novice" in the article! There's hardly any close shaves or guesswork at all! Websites don't lie, especially not one's linked on/. !
organic molecules are anything primarily consisting of carbon and hydrogen. They don't necessarily have to have a "carbon ring", it can just be a chain of carbon molecules.
Sorry. Those organic chemistry classes i have to take to get my chemical engineering degree do drive me a bit mad, i have to correct mundane things like that.
Yes, but the series Enterprise has something too, it's humanity's struggle to make its mark in the universe, and they're potrayed as meek, shaky children compared to the established races. It's a tale of how they struggle their way up to the eventual greatness of the Kirk and Picard eras (let's just forget about the other 2 series). As an engineering student, it's inspiring to see a story of struggle with technology and diplomacy.

But can the German/Japanese data get past the mighty Maginot Firewall?
The Solution? Fire. And lots of it! Try taping all that ash together, jerks!

So I'm a Firefly nerd, sue me.
Google's first goal should be to invade sweden and stop the spread of strangely named furniture. All Hail the GoogleArmy Beta! Invitation Only!

...Open source is the best solution for everything. I will use open source, O great slashdot ...
This is true, this is using a product of a reaction to assist in allowing more reactants to react.
