I call bullshit on the startup time for FF 1.5. I'm sitting here encoding a DVD (100% CPU usage) and FF 1.5 still opens in 4-5 seconds, and that's with 13 installed extensions.
Then again, I'm not using the Windows version either.
Well, yeah, there's that. And there's also the fact that Sony always bullshits us on hardware specs, while Nintendo is honest. Nintendo gives real world numbers, and Sony gives "theoretical" (ie bullshit) numbers. To back that up, check out this spec comparison. Now, seeing as how the specs are similiar (contrary to your claims), how does the PS2 pull of 6-12x the polygon count of the Gamecube? That's right. It doesn't.
In an ideal world, we'd all be voting Libertarian. You know, limited government, lower taxes, and personal freedoms. Unfortunately everybody is so afraid of "wasting" a vote than they only vote Democrat or Republican. To me, though, both partied are ruined past the point of no return. Something has to change.

"Even better, this could pave the way for 32X, Sega CD, and Sega Saturn games. I doubt we'd ever see Dreamcast games; while the Revolution will certainly be more powerful than the Dreamcast, would it be able to emulate the Dreamcast?"
Emulating the Dreamcast would not be a problem. The fact that the Revolution would comes with 512 megs of flash, however, would be a huge problem. Even if you expanded it with a 2GB SD card (expensive!), you could still only fit a couple games I would think.
There's lots of Sonic games on the Gameucbe (though none are good), as well as a couple of 'compilation' game disc with the older Sonic games on them. So, in short: been there, done that.
That's true, except that 6 months down the road their computer is so infested with viruses and spyware that it slows to a crawl and they think they need a new computer. Sadly, this is not uncommon at all.
I don't know a thing about the Mozilla codebase, but I do know that the Gecko engine is not anywhere near as close to being standards compliant as Opera is. Opera can almost pass the Acid2 Test, Firefox doesn't even come close. (though it is much closer than IE)
I think the point was that if they tried to use it as evidence it would be very easy to claim you did not have your phone with you. (Lost, stolen, etc)
I also went to public school in North Carolina, pretty far out in the country even. I have met one person that I know for sure believes in a "young earth" (though I would bet there are more) and scores upon scores that think evolution is bullshit. It is truely scary.
Awesome, now I know two things. How much money I'll be saving with my Revolution, and that I won't be missing a damn thing.
I mean at first I was buying a Revolution on principle... because I strongly dislike M$ and I loathe Sony. (not to mention Nintendo makes kick-ass games, and their entire back catalog downloadable) Now, it turns out they're fucking up their consoles anyway. The main advantage of consoles has always been hardware continuity... and $400? Rediculous.
The Revolution might have a little less power, but at least they don't always overpromise and underdeliver.:)
You know... I don't really understand what's wrong with Star Wars being re-released several times. The Special Edition VHS was nice project I thought. They cleaned up the old masters for archival and gave the movie an overall cleaner feel. There's also the fact that my old VHS's were getting pretty worn out anyway...
And then the DVD's... well, it's a new format. I wanted allot of my old VHS movies on DVD, including Star Wars. Along with looking and sounding fantastic, I also liked the changes made. At least they put some effort into it. To me, that shows Lucas is interested in something other than simply milking a cash-cow.
So yea, remind me again why the re-releases are a target for humor?

What I want to know is, is it more effective than a really big hammer?

You should stop drinking the Sony kool-aid.

Crap, you just screwed up my keyboard. Thanks a lot.
If you look at the package information a specififc package version was specified. Dolt.
It's beta software. From what I hear the Windows and OSX version are just as bad. (dependancy issues included) Get a clue
Yes, but those can all be fixed with 'apt-get -f install', the python error can not.

No, it's not like that at all. What lawyers do is actually legal... usually.
