    Compare it to equivalent windows command line. The GUI in windows is simple if you are part of a domain.

    Antivirus softwares need to scan each bit passing to the disk which slows up file copy on any Windows system. Before XP culprit was the default of disabled DMA for HDD. Yes linux does it a bit faster but it's not a huge difference in practice.

    Try holding Shift key while clicking. It works as "No to all" for file replace dialog which pops up while copying files. It might do the trick.

    It's a game not real life. Immersion comes from being able to recreate any moment in the game I want. I can compare this with my style of reading books. I go through it at a high speed marking the places where I would like to spend the time and then read those again just to increase the value.
