    FLASH is about read access time. Throughput can be gotten far cheaper with conventional drives and RAID1.

    You mean RAID0. Note that you could do RAID0 with Flash drives and have both.

    They won't do it, because some websites work only with IE (ActiveX intranets and lousy javascript mainly) and they will want to keep it that way.

    Version numbers are especially important - users will use the one with the highest version, i.e. IE 8.

    Exactly. I watched their commercial (it's not a demo, it's a commercial, and everything is faked) and when I saw the girl "driving" with her hands in the air it hit me : I couldn't last five minutes with this game. When you drive your hands are not in the air, the rest on the wheel. This product is incredibly stupid, and like Surface it will never exist in real life.

    I live in France. I've seen many programming *students* refuse to read documentation in English (also, my current school gives us some documents in English but those are written by French people... in *very* bad English). Actual programmers, not so much. At work we use English names but French comments.

    I have 22278 songs on my computer, about 1000 of them are rips from my own CDs (none of them are by labels of the RIAA by the way). It's just that I want that music but can't afford to pay more. So why not download them? And at $1/song it's just better to buy a CD - you get cool artwork, no lossy encoding, no drm, and a backup of your digital rip.

    I started using OpenDNS because my ISP's DNS servers were partly unresponsive and I haven't looked back since. Also I've seen many major ISPs with insecure DNS servers... at least I know the OpenDNS guys know what they are doing.

    Better solution: have a /boot partition, which is the default on Gentoo. Your /boot partition (under 40 mb) will be ext2, and the rest will be whatever you want.

    For characters instead of numbers you can use jot, e.g. jot -r -c 1 a z returns one random char.
