Um, according to that piece of the article you quoted he suggests having password masking for "high-risk" applications such as banking default to ON.

You should give tvtime a try. It doesn't support recording but it works very nicely with my ATI TV Tuner for just watching TV.

If you go to Tools -> Preferences -> Message Text, there's an option to ignore font sizes. That should fix your problem.
Last time I checked I was able to write a program in just about any language I wanted for free. Yes, even ASP, VB, and Java.
